Today on our 2023 Toyota Tacoma, we're gonna be showing you how to install the REDARC Tow-Pro Liberty Trailer Brake controller, and we're gonna be doing that in conjunction with the REDARC custom fit adapter plug. But before we get into that, why don't we take a minute, check it out and make sure it's gonna be right for you. With these Tacomas being pretty capable vehicles, you know, people use 'em to tow some fairly large trailers around. And if your trailer has brakes on it, you're gonna need a way to send power to 'em. That way they'll activate and actually help slow you down. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2023 Hyundai Palisade- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the REDARC Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller on a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. Now, choosing a brake controller for your vehicle, when you plan on towing a trailer with brakes, normally you're probably used to ones that are pretty large and they mount up and you hit your knees on them every time you come in. And that's where the REDARC really changes the game. You have such a small switch that it keeps it pretty well OEM looking and you can really have the customization to mount wherever you want, but you get all the usability of a brake controller at the push of a button. Your manual override is a simple push of a button and as you adjust your gain, the colors will also change when you have your trailer hooked up, but that's how you adjust how intense the brakes are gonna be coming on. The rest of the brake controller is all hidden away, so the brains of the operation isn't visible, so you get all the usability with just that small little switch that you'll see. more

Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna be talking about the Hayes Energize III brake controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. How a brake controller works is when you have a trailer with electric brakes, this control is gonna send a signal from up here back to your trailer to letting you know to stop. So today we have a proportional one. So how that works is if you press down either light or hard it's gonna match that on your trailer as well. The energize III brake controller is gonna be great for hauling those trailers with one to three axles. more

Hayes Syncronizer Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about the Hayes Synchronizer Trailer Brake Controller on the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. So what a brake controller does is when you press down on your brakes in your vehicle, this is gonna send a signal all the way back to your trailer that has electric brakes on it, then press its brakes. Now, today, we have a time delayed one, so that's not gonna be like our proportional brake controllers. How it differs is a proportional brake controller, when you press down on the brakes, if you press down hard, it's gonna press down hard on your trailer's, and if you press down light, it's gonna press down light on your trailer brakes. While this is gonna work a little bit differently, and it's not gonna provide you as smooth of a ride. more

This is gonna be a great option if you're looking for something to kind of help you haul anything. How it's gonna work is if you have any electric brakes on your trailer, this is gonna send a signal back to it and help your trailer brake some more. And what's nice is this is gonna be a proportional one so however hard you push on the brakes is gonna send that same amount of force to your trailer. With this particular brake controller we have today, it's gonna be able to handle up to one to four axles. more

What's great about brake controllers, they're gonna be great for when you are hauling any trailers that have electric brakes on them. And especially with this one in particular since it is a proportional brake controller it's gonna help your brakes under your trailer proportionally brake with your brakes on your vehicle. So what that kind of means is if you lightly press the brakes on your vehicle it's gonna lightly press the brakes on your trailer. And this is what it's gonna look like installed on our vehicle. more

Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2014 Ford Explorer- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at e-trailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Curt TriFlex Brake Controller on a 2014 Ford Explorer. Now, this is a traditional style braking controller, which basically means that you are gonna have a unit mounted up and this one's pretty thin with the bracket, it actually fits pretty well on our explorer here. They have it in a nice spot that's easily accessible for the driver, it doesn't get in the way of anything. And this is gonna be a great brake controller. It plugs in directly to the factory tow package with the adapter harness. And really, it's super easy to gain access to your manual override, it feels really good. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller on a 2023 Toyota 4Runner. Now this is what the REDARC looks like when it's installed and compared to a lot of your traditional brake controllers that you see mounted up on a dash that you inevitably hit your knees on, the REDARC really does a fantastic job of making it look like an OEM brake controller. As you can see, even with this factory knockout plate the button matches all of the controls here. It's hidden out of the way, but it's still super accessible and equally as usable as any other brake controller. Just like any other brake controller you can pick between two modes. You can have it to where it's user controlled or you can have it proportional to the braking pretty easy. more

Curt Echo In-Line Bluetooth Brake Controller Installation - 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee- Video
Hi John with etrailer. If your Jeep is already equipped with a trailer tow package and seven pole wiring, but you need a brake controller, then check this option out from CURT, this is the CURT Inline Bluetooth brake controller and then we've installed this on our 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now on the app, you can save up to five different profiles if you have multiple trailers. That is handy. Now we've selected profile one and on this you're gonna be able to adjust your maximum break output, your sensitivity output, and you're gonna have a large circle, which is gonna be your manual overrider sway control. Now we have a brake box simulator that is hooked up to the rear of our Jeep right now, so that if I do press the brakes, you're gonna see them applying and you're gonna have the brake lights left and right on the brakes being applied. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Ford F-150- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the REDARC Tow-Pro Liberty, which is gonna be a great brake controller on a 2017 Ford F-150. If you plan on pulling a trailer with trailer brakes, you are gonna need a brake controller on your vehicle, and if you don't have a factory one, adding a brake controller is very easy to do. And traditionally, you probably know the ones that kind of mount here under the dash, and you've probably hit your knees on them before. Well, REDARC's done a really good job of making a very functional, proportional braking system, all in a small package that gives you a nice clean OEM look. Now using REDARC's custom wiring harness, we we're able to get this installed, plug and play, no splicing of wires, and it's super easy to do, and it may seem like it's small, and doesn't have a readout screen like some of your other brake controllers, but not to worry, this works great. In fact, you can adjust your gain just at the turn of a knob. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got a 2023 Ford Bronco Sport and we're gonna be showing you how to install the Redarc Tow Pro Elite Brake Controller. Now the biggest reason why a lot of people like the Redarc Tow Pro Elite brake controller is because of exactly what you see now. There's not much to it. You just have the control knob here and then the module itself, the brake controller will be mounted back underneath your dash wherever you find it fits best. It's better than a traditional style brake controller in my opinion because especially in the Bronco Sport you don't have room for that big box that you have to mount in a certain orientation in order for it to work properly. more

So you got your vehicle and you got a trailer that has brakes on it and you're gonna need a way to apply those trailer brakes whenever you're towing it. That way, everything will slow down safely and that's where a trailer brake controller like this one is going to come into play. So this one will work with trailer brakes that are electric or electric over hydraulic and for trailers that have up to three axles. So pretty much covers all the bases there. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2017 Cadillac Escalade- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Redarc brake controller on a 2017 Cadillac Escalade. Now there's two different configurations of the Redarc brake controller available and it's really gonna be dependent on how many axles your trailer has that you plan on towing. If you have one to two axles, you're gonna want to go with Tow-Pro Liberty. Now if you have three axles, you're gonna wanna step that up to the Tow-Pro Elite. I think the best part about the Redarc brake controller and I recommend it to a lot of people because it has such a small real estate here, you get all the same functions of a normal brake controller and you may say, "Well, it doesn't have a screen like one," and you don't really need that screen. You can still adjust your gain just by turning the knob here. more

Hey guys, Kevin here with etrailer and today I'm gonna be showing you how to install the Tucson DirecLink Trailer Brake Controller here on our 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. Up top here you can see it's going to revert back to our brake sensitivity and there's gonna be 20 different sensitivity levels, depending on if your trailer is above or below 10,000 pounds gross vehicle weight rating, so you can easily adjust that up and down. (button beeping) And then also we can go to the side here and that's gonna give us our low speed brake. So essentially if you're going at a low speed, you don't have to worry about the brakes fully actuating. This is basically just gonna kind of get you a more smoother braking power whenever you're driving through the city or maybe you're hitting a whole lot of stop lights and you don't really wanna have it slam on the brakes every single time, you can adjust this, get a little bit lower, and then we also have our max brake limit. And so right now I got that just said at 20%, but obviously you could change that as well. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today we'll be taking a look at the CURT Echo In-line Wireless brake controller, how it fits, how it installs, on the 2023 GMC Sierra 1500. So this is going to be a proportional brake controller for one to four axle trailers. So when you're towing them, you wanna make sure that as you brake, the trailer brakes too, and everything is safe. Now, you may have your own factory brake controller like what we have here on our truck. Now, if that's on the fritz, maybe you need to replace it. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2021 Hyundai Palisade- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty brake controller on a 2021 Hyundai Palisade. When adding a brake controller to a vehicle that tows a trailer with brakes is a great idea, it just makes it easier to tow and if you start to get that sway you can even it out with a nice manual override. And also you can have proportional braking, so when you're applying the brakes on the vehicle, it'll proportionally add that to the trailer, bringing it to a slower stop. The downside, a lot of times that you think of with brake controllers is hitting your knees as you get in. Your traditional brake controller is normally mounted somewhere into the dash and newer cars are just getting harder to find that spot without smacking your knees on it. And overall they're just pretty clunky and Redarc's really done a fine job of eliminating that large piece and keeping the footprint nice and small and looking OEM. more

Whenever you plan on pulling a trailer that has brakes, you're gonna need a way to apply 'em, you know That way you can slow down everything as a whole unit and not just rely on your vehicle to do all the braking. And so, when that situation occurs, that's where a brake controller, like the Curt one here, is gonna come into play. So the way it's gonna work, whenever you hit the brakes in your vehicle, it's gonna send a signal back and apply the brakes on your trailer helping to bring you to that safe and controlled stop. There are a ton of different brake controllers available, and this particular one's really unique, I think it's pretty cool and, personally, I've yet to see one similar to it. more

Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller Installation - 2019 Nissan Armada- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing RED ARC Tow Pro Liberty brake controller on a 2019 Nissan Armada. The Armada has a pretty heavy duty towing capacity. And with that and with heavier trailers generally you're gonna have trailer brakes associated with it and it's just gonna make your towing experience a lot better. You can control that swaying trailer if it's improperly loaded or just coming to a stop, it's gonna slow that trailer down and keep it from pushing the vehicle around. Your typical brake controller, you've probably seen them kind of living under here in the dash area and you've probably smacked your knees on them before as they do take up a decent amount of area. And a lot of 'em will have digital readouts and your manual slide. more
