An In-Depth Look at the Benton ShellRaiser Roof Cargo Box with MOS UpLift Lift Assist- Video
Hey, everyone, it's Evangeline, right here at etrailer. Today we have the lift-assisted roof-mounted cargo box. This is gonna be a kit that we created, combining the MOS UpLift lift-assist adapter with the ShellRaiser cargo box. This is probably one of the best applications I've seen of the UpLift lift-assisted adapter and this is gonna give you the option of carrying around cargo with your vehicle and not having to reach super high up to do so. So if you struggle with lifting your heavier items onto your roof, but also wanting to make sure that they are nice and secure in a box, well, this kit might be a good option for you. While a lot of different accessories can be used with the UpLift, in fact, you can even use different roof boxes with this adapter, the reason that we paired the MOS Rack UpLift with the Benton ShellRaiser is because we found that the UpLift has a very specific requirement for how something clamps down to their carrier, something that not all the cargo boxes fit. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline right here at etrailer. Today, we have the Benton ShellRaiser Roof Box here on a 2013 Hyundai Sonata. Now the owner of this vehicle just came back from a camping trip and she was super happy about her experience with the ShellRaiser. And when she was telling me about it, I said, "All right, well, I'd like to share "that experience with everyone else, "especially so that they can see "how this roof box fits on their car." So if you have a Sonata, this might be a good option for you since you can see here, on a smaller vehicle, this smaller box looks good and it makes sense. You do get eight cubic feet of space, which doesn't sound like much, but it's actually pretty good for if you need to carry a bunch of life jackets, the owner of this car is a kayaker, or if you wanna carry, let's say, some duffel bags, your boots, your coats, things like that. So let's check it out. Now something you'll probably notice right off the bat is this box looks pretty small on this vehicle, and it does, but it's gonna have a great use for some specific uses. This is gonna allow you to take advantage of the negative space on top of your vehicle once you add a roof rack system. So let's take a closer look at our carrier case and see what makes it special. The gear carry is 11 and a half cubic feet, so that's gonna give you plenty of space for your items and you know, your sleeping bags, duffel bags, just the things you don't have space in there for. The Front Runner rack is sold and installed separately onto this vehicle. First off, the INNO Gear Case 720 is a different type of roof-mounted box. It's more of a cargo case than anything. I personally like the design because it's more of a square, easy to carry around, very portable case, but you are gonna lose out on some features. more

Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima GrandTour 18 on our 2022 GNC Terrain. Now if you're looking to carry around some of those longer items like skis or snowboards and keep them out of your car or just carry around additional luggage in case you're full up on passengers within your vehicle, all those are really great examples of why you would need something like this roof box. Our roof box is pretty tall, about 17 inches tall, so we can fit a lot of those taller items in here like maybe some luggage. Hey there, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Thule Motion 3 low profile rooftop cargo box. We're gonna take a look at how it fits the 2023 Kia Seltos. This is going to be a 14 cubic foot box that allows you to carry cargo on top of your vehicle, which is especially helpful if you run out of space inside your Seltos. But also, if you're planning on carrying longer items like your skis, your snowboards, or sometimes your fishing rods, this is gonna be a great way to protect those items from the elements, but still be able to bring them to your destination. While this might seem like a larger box, it actually fits almost perfectly on our smaller Seltos. Now the Motion 3 comes in two different color variations for this large size they have. We have today the Titan finish, which is just a dark gray, and then, of course, just black. So if you don't like the way this looks with this particular color Outback, or maybe your own, if you've got a different color, that's okay. Standard black is available, but for people that want to match the gray to maybe accent a certain color on their Subaru, or match, if they've got a gray finish, this might be a really unique option. more

This is gonna be their extra-extra-large variant, giving you 21 cubic feet of storage space, so it's a really excellent choice for a larger vehicle if you're looking to maximize the roof space and get a lot of stuff with you on your journeys. It's available in this black color, like you see here, or a gray color that they call Titan if you prefer to match your vehicle to a gray box instead of just a standard black box. Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Thule Motion 3 low profile roof box. This is gonna be one of their larger sizes offering 18 cubic feet of storage space while still maintaining a lower profile so you're not adding near as much height to your vehicle. A low profile box like this is a great option if you're primarily carrying things like skis and snowboards. That's what a lot of these are designed for because those items tend to be a lot longer and not nearly as tall as things like duffel bags and suitcases would be. So why add the height to your vehicle if you really don't need it That space is gonna be better spent by creating a longer box for those longer items. more

If you need a carry around cargo, but you want to make sure it's protected from the elements, a big question is, how well does it protect it Well, your box is gonna be made of ABS plastic, and you have your glossy lid, whether glossy black or glossy gray, and then you have your more textured bottom base. Hi, Matt with etrailer and today we're gonna be talking about the Thule Motion 3 roof box on our 2022 Toyota Tacoma. What's great about a roof box is it's gonna do a great job at protecting your gear from any elements. And a situation you're probably gonna run into is if you're planning on taking a family trip, you're probably gonna have your cab maxed out so you're gonna need somewhere to place your luggage. Now you do have your bed, which is okay, but if your luggage is gonna be sensitive to the elements, that's not gonna be the great place to put it. The next best place to put it is gonna be in a roof box. And what's great about the one we have today is there's gonna be plenty of space in it. more

If you're looking for a way to carry a little bit more cargo with you when you're going out on your trips or you're running outta space in the back of your 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, because you do have those longer items, then the Yakima NX 16 Roof Box is gonna be an excellent choice for you. Now in my opinion I think this is gonna be a better option if you have anything that you don't want getting wet or that's not gonna be very weather resistant. Anything like your luggage, any canvas bags, or even skis, because we're gonna get full coverage with this, as opposed to a roof basket. But let's take a closer look at this. How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima SkyBox NX on our 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. Generally, when you're looking towards items like rooftop boxes, you're trying to solve the issue that I'm pretty sure you're aware of with the Bronco Sport, that limited cargo space. When you add a box like the SkyBox, it's gonna give you that additional cargo area by using negative space on top of your vehicle. The SkyBox NX is available in a 16 cubic foot box that we're looking at here. And if you need a larger box, the 18 cubic foot is available. However, on top of the Bronco Sport, the 16 cubic foot is gonna be the longest that'll fit without obstructing the tailgate. more

Rhino-Rack Cargo Box Review- Video
Hello neighbors, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at this nice Rhino-Rack cargo box. It's a nice polypropylene, super tough, super impact resistant. You've seen these kind of cases before out in the everyday use, and whatnot, in off-roading. So it is a nice durable large cargo box, it's gonna provide a nice enclosed storage space for your gear. Now opening it up, it does have a nice rubber seals and gasketing washers, and they're gonna prevent dust and water to stay out of the box itself. more

Hi everyone. Aiden here, with etrailer. And today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima SkyBox NX 16, and we're gonna see how it fits on the top of our 2005 Lexus GX 470. Now the GX is a pretty large vehicle, pretty tall up off the ground, especially if you choose to put some larger tires on it. So a roof box will be adding some height to the vehicle, but it will also expand your storage space. A lot of people like to build this out into a camping rig where you can take it off road, get to some more remote locations. more

Adding a cargo box to the rooftop of your Murano is gonna help solve the issue of having limited cargo space. So something like this guy right here is gonna allow you to take advantage of that negative space to get those bigger, bulkier items out on the road with you for your adventure. As a Murano owner, you already know that your cargo space is pretty limited, so if you maxing out the back of your vehicle, adding on the roof box to the top is gonna be great, and then you can see that there's no interference with the roof box while the cargo hatch is open.
