Review of Flex-a-lite Radiator Fans - 7 Blade Asymmetrical Belt-Driven Fan - FLX4818

Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a quick look at the Flex-a-Lite 18-inch 7-blade flex fan. This is going to help to cool down your engine whenever you're coming to a slow stop, maybe you're towing with your vehicle and you need to cool down that engine even when you're not at highway speeds.Typically, your radiator is going to be cooled by the air flowing through, so if you're at higher speeds, it typically gets that air just fine, but then whenever you start to slow down and you're either at a stop or crawling along, maybe in some traffic, that's when your radiator's not getting that air pulled through. So, that's where we need our fan to help to do that. Now, this is going to be a stainless steel fan design. You can see we'll have these nice blades going on on either side. more

Detailed Breakdown of the Flex-a-lite 14

Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and today we're taking a look at the Flex-a-Lite 14 inch Flex-Wave electric fan. So one of the main reasons why you would be putting an electric fan in your vehicle is to cool down that radiator faster, especially when you're going to be towing with a vehicle that maybe it wasn't designed for towing necessarily or it's just having a hard time moving at those higher RPMs. So, we need to cool down our system, make our engine work more efficiently, and get better gas mileage while we're towing down the road or just while we're using our vehicle overall. This is going to help us to do that. This is going to be a reversible fan, so you can have it in a pusher or puller configuration, depending on the setup of your radiator and your engine. Some of the newer vehicles, a lot of foreign vehicles will require that you have this in the pusher configuration, so it'd be on the outside of your radiator or closer to your grill. Other vehicles might require it on the other side or closer to the engine. more

Derale 9" Tornado Electric Fan: The Breakdown- Video

Derale 9

Today we'll be taking a look at the Derale Nine Inch Tornado Electric Fan.This is going to help to make your vehicle run more smoothly, increase your overall fuel economy and your overall performance, since this is going to help to cool down our engine, our fluids, and make sure that everything keeps from overheating.A lot of times whenever you're towing with a vehicle, it can cause some extra strain on that engine, cause fluids to overheat, so this is going to help to increase that airflow and help everything to stay nice and cool. It also helps to increase that air flow to our engine, making it work more efficiently as well, since oxygen helps the engine to combust the fuel faster and more efficiently. So this is can be mounted in either the pusher or puller position, that'll basically be on one side of your radiator or the other. And then we'll have our power coming off of there, just connects into the spade terminals that the kit does provide. We'll also have a length of wire to connect there, and it also comes with a lighted switch, so we can make our connections at the back of that. Comes with two ring terminals and a couple of butt connectors and also a quick splice, along with some self-tapping screws. And then this is all the hardware that we would need to get this mounted up.The rods are going to go through our little mounting feet, which slide into the slots on the side of the fan, and then it goes through. more
