How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and, today, we're taking a look at the Yakima LongHaul four bike hanging Bike Rack on our 2019 Coachmen Pursuit. Now this guy right here is gonna be one of the most efficient ways to carry a bike, but if you're a person that doesn't want necessarily any contact to your frame, or contact between your bikes, you may wanna look towards a cradle-style. If that's not the case and you just need to move four bikes in the most easy, efficient way, this is gonna be your guy. So let me show you how to make it work for you. As you can see, load it up with just one bike, you're not really obstructing anything, you know, your license plate is still pretty wide open, tail lights are open, not blocking anything. This does not tilt or fold, it's gonna be in a fixed hanging position, however, you can tilt the arms down when you're unloaded. more

So you're looking at your mountain bikes with a bigger tires on 'em, and those e-bikes, it's gonna have an 80 pound capacity and it'll be able to work on as well the motor homes, your flat towed vehicles and your fifth wheels. The only thing it couldn't go on is a travel trailer. That just means it's can be really nice that if you have a RAV4 and an RV, it can interchange independently. more

Hi, Matt, with etrailer, if you have a 2023 Thor Gemini motor home and you want to carry a lot of bikes from point A to point B, then the Yakima Long Haul is gonna be a great rack for you. So let's check it out. The downside to these styles of bike racks is your bike is gonna shift a lot. Now that's something to consider when you're driving on down those really bumpy roads. You're gonna have this front wheel swinging around and it might make contact with your motor home, but right now we're not getting close enough to do that. We are getting pretty close though, so definitely keep an eye on it. more

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Bike Carrier on our 2024 Mitsubishi Outlander. Now the RV Rider is gonna be a frame mounted bike carrier, so if you don't mind having contact to the frame of your cross tube, of your top tube, then this is gonna work well. If you have a carbon fiber frame, unconventional frame, like a step through bike, this may not be the best option, but if you're not worried about that contact, it'll work well. As the name implies, your carrier is capable to go on the back of your RV as well as your Outlander. You are limited to travel trailers. It will not work. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima Long Haul on the back of our 2018 Winnebago Forza. The Long Haul is a hanging style bike carrier and one of the easiest and cost effective ways to get four bikes on the road with you on the back of a RV. What makes the Long Haul special is the fact that it's reinforced at the shank to handle that up and down force that you're going to experience going down the road on the back of your Winnebago. On the back of our Forza here, you can see that overall your lights are not gonna be blocked, but your license plate will be obstructed by that mast going up. So depending on your location, you may or may not need to relocate that. As far as your reflectors and your exhaust, you're at a pretty good space where you don't have to worry about blocking anything out. more

How's it going This is Ed here with etrailer.com and we're taking a look at the Yakima LongHaul on the back of our 2023 Thor Challenger. Now the LongHaul is a hanging bike carrier. So this is gonna have three points of contact and basically it's gonna get you two points here, one back here on the rear, between the frame and the wheel. And that is gonna be a carrier for basically your regular bikes. If you have something that's nicer, like a carbon fiber bike or an unconventional frame, this isn't necessarily the best option. Now if you do have a kid's bike or step-through bike, you can use a frame adapter to allow you to make these two contact points, but it's an additional accessory you would have to add. more

Now the LongHaul is going to be a motor home-approved bike rack and that's important to know because there is gonna be extra shock and vibration at the back of your motor home compared to a typical passenger vehicle. And the bike rack does need to be built to a certain spec to withstand that, and the LongHaul is. It's gonna lack a few features that you might be used to in other hitch-mounted racks, like a tilting feature because of that, but you really don't need it on your motor home. And the result is something that's a lot more sturdy because down there at what would be the pivot point, it's welded and bolted in. more

Each bike can weigh up to 37 1/2 pounds. So for a hanging rack, that's actually pretty solid, but you will run into some issues because it is a hanging rack. But another thing is that the Ventura has a very interesting issue it has with platform racks. And that comes from how the hitch sits so close and there's not that much space between your grill, your bumper, plus this ladder. more

Hey everybody, Cooper here from etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks RV Rider on our 2021 Dodge Durango. This rack is going to be a platform style bike rack able to accommodate up to two bikes individually rated for 80 pounds each, which means that our heavier electric e-bikes are definitely going to be an option with this. We are, however, making contact on our center mast as our main point of contact here. So our carbon frame bikes might not be able to fit on this rack, but the ability to slip our knob and have this go up and down the mast definitely means that our alternative frame bikes are going to find a home on this. Now while our rack does come with a tilt away feature, unfortunately that tilt is not aggressive enough to clear the back hatch on our Durango. more

There are a good amount of bike racks that are rated for motor homes, but they have to be extra sturdy because there's a lot more sway in the back. So the LongHaul is definitely designed for that feature but also compared to some other RV bike racks this takes up less space and is a bit more affordable. It's also a hanging rack though, and that has its downsides. more

Yes. Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Escapee 2-Bike Rack and seeing how it fits in the back of this 2019 Fleetwood Bounder Motorhome. Now this is a platform style bike rack which means the bike sits on top of the rack, in this case in these two trays or wheel cradles. They're pretty wide cradles, able to accommodate a five inch wide tire, which is great but this bike rack is going to be a pretty standout one for a number of reasons. It's approved for motorhome use which is important when picking out a bike rack because motorhome approved racks have to be built to a certain spec. more

So this is gonna be a look at how it fits our 2017 American Coach American Revolution Motor Home. So for hanging racks, these are ideal if you want something that takes up less space, is a bit more affordable and is easier to install. I usually don't prefer hanging racks for RVs and motor homes because they're usually not as sturdy, but in the case of the LongHaul, it's what they say over-engineered to make sure it's extra stable. Now what we have here is the four bike version where you can carry up to four bikes without taking up much space. This has your basic features like the arms fold up as well as fold down, be more compact. more

The Escapee is designed to hold two bikes with the platform style rack, which means it's gonna hold them up by these cradles and this tray down below. So our primary point of contact is gonna be this wheel hook in the front and we have one strap down here at the back. So you can use this with your carbon frame or alternative frame bikes because we don't make that frame contact. And we have a 60 pound per bike weight capacity, which means we can support E-bikes, like the one that you see here. And there is also an optional bridge and ramp attachment if you need a little bit of help loading and unloading those heavy bikes. more

So this is a bike rack that is designed for your fifth wheels, for your trailers and your motor homes. It has extra stability for your rack because of the extra movement behind your motor home. You wanna make sure that it is strong and sturdy. There are some downsides to this hanging rack though like how with our specific motor home here, the hitch is a little close to the bumper. more

If you're looking for a bike rack for your heavy bikes and you have a motorhome, your options are limited because you need extra heavyweight capacity and an extra sturdy bike rack to hold up to the extra movement behind a motorhome. Fortunately, this is gonna be designed exactly for that. We have an impressive weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike plus a wheelbase capacity of 60 inches which is for those extra large frames and even maybe your smaller or common bikes. There are some downsides with this on the motorhome, though. The first thing is gonna be the distance away from the back of our Fleetwood Discovery. more

Hi, everyone. Aiden here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at the Swagman Escapee two bike rack and seeing how it fits on the back of our 2023 Subaru Outback. Now, this is gonna be a platform style bike rack, primarily designed for RV use. If you have a motor home, that's great, you can use it there, but it's gonna work just fine on your Subaru Outback as well. With it being a platform rack, it's gonna hold the bike on top of the rack in these wheel cradles, and this one uses a wheel hook to hold the bike in place primarily. more

How to Set Up Your Swagman Escapee RV Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes on a 2017 Toyota RAV4- Video
Hi, everybody, Cooper here with etrailer, and today, we're going to be looking at the Swagman Escapee on our 2017 Toyota RAV4. The Escapee is going to be a platform-style bike rack, which can hold up to two bikes and does so by holding them by the tires. So it's important to know that, because for our carbon frame bikes and our alternative frame bikes, that means there's going to be no weight on the frame itself, it's actually held all within the tires. The bikes themselves are actually weighted for 60 pounds per bike each, so it will be able to hold those e-bikes as well too. So unfortunately, this bike rack is not a tilt away system, so if we want to gain access into our trunk, we're gonna have to take our bike off first, and we're gonna show you how that process goes right now. So our wheel hook's actually what holds our bike into place, so what we're gonna do first is actually come down to the wheel strap here, press our little lever right here, and it should slide right out, and we're gonna feed that back through the tire. more

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at the Yakima LongHaul RV Bike Rack on the back of our 2023 Jayco Alante motor home. This is gonna be a hanging style bike rack. We've got our bike held up here by the frame with these two zip strips on top, and the third one on the side here to limit our side to side movement. That's gonna help with bike to bike contact and make sure that the bike doesn't maybe make contact with our motor home either. It's gonna be a pretty basic bike rack honestly, you're not gonna get a whole lot of features with it. more

So this bike rack's gonna be pretty unique. It's going to be motor home approved which is going to be a big thing for it. You do have to get a bike rack that's motor home approved because it's tested to different standards and just a typical passenger car and this one is very sturdy. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we'll be taking a look at how the Hollywood Racks RV Rider Platform Bike Rack fits on a 2023 Cadillac XT4. So the RV rider is an extreme bike rack. It is designed to use with RV's, motor homes, trailers, things like that, but can also be used on pretty much any vehicle that has a 2-inch hitch receiver. So for that reason, I really would only recommend this bike rack if you have an extreme situation. Maybe you have an extremely heavy bike or you have a long wheel base that you need to consider, that's when this might be the best option for you. But for other cases, like normal bikes, you might want something that's easier to use, 'cause there's a lot of things included with this rack that you're gonna have to go through. more

How's it going, everyone It's Ethan here at etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Hollywood Racks RV Rider in the back of our 2022 GMC Sierra 1500. First thing we need to do is actually get the bike rack installed. So, to do that, we'll just fit it into our receiver, doing our best to line up the holes with the shank. Then we can fit our anti-rattle bolt in, and moving the rack up and down as much as you can, you should be able to hand thread it most of the way through, just to make sure we're not stripping the bolt if this is something we're going to be putting on and taking off often. Once you get it to the point where it can't hand thread anymore, grab yourself a three-quarter inch socket wrench and tighten the rest of it down. more

Now this is gonna be a bike rack that is not only going to work on your vehicle, but say you have an RV or motor home or a flat tow, anything like that, you're gonna be able to also use it on. So it's going to miss some of the specific quality of lifes that you see with other heavier e-bikes. But it's still going to have a very high weight capacity of 80 pounds per bike, which is gonna be great. more
