Hi, Matt with etrailer and today we're gonna be talking about the Deezee tailgate assist on the back of our 2021 Ford F-150. Now this is gonna be something that's just more of a quality of life accessory that's just gonna help with your tailgate opening, but with it installed, you'll really see the main difference and you can tell this is a lot more smoother and a lot more controlled. It's just gonna be a lot safer to use, especially when you do have a lot of things in your hand. Now I will say this is gonna work pretty simply. We're just gonna have this kind of piston that's attached to the inside of your bed and to the side of your tailgate and that's just gonna leave pressure when it's coming down, kind of absorbing a lot of that shock. And what I also really enjoy about this is there's a pretty quick and easy installation that doesn't require any drilling. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today, we're taking a look and installing the Gate King Tailgate Extender on a 2023 Toyota Tacoma. And this is gonna allow you to get your tailgate in multiple different spots and that way you can really get it custom fit to whatever you have in your bed. (tailgate clicking) And the great part is, is whenever you need to close it up, (tailgate clicking) it goes back to being a normal tailgate, so let's first take a look at why you might want one. If you haul an ATV or a dirt bike in your truck, sometimes you're gonna realize that maybe the truck bed isn't long enough to account for that, or if you're doing any household projects, you got a ladder or two by fours, whatever it may be, a lot of times you're gonna have that shooting up over the tailgate, which is totally fine, but if you have a camper shell or a tonneau cover, you can run into some issues there and that's where having a little bit of adjustability from the tailgate is gonna allow for that to drop down low enough to still be able to maintain that tonneau cover. We're gonna be putting a mid-height ladder rack on here and that really could be an issue with some taller or larger things, so having that tailgate to be able to drop down to really account for that is gonna be huge. And this, again, is super helpful with those dirt bikes and ATVs, obviously this wasn't a dirt bike, but similar concept where we are kind of hanging off to where we don't have a tailgate really holding anything in place, so this can act slightly like a wheel chock in a sense, 'cause as you raise this up, you're gonna at least have some back pressure against that rear tire to really keep it all nice and tight in place. more

Hey everyone, Shane here with etrailor.com. Today I have a 2019 GMC Sierra, and we're going to be installing Gate king's tailgate adjuster. Maybe you're like me, you use your truck for a lot of different things., For instance, carrying loads, where it sticks out past the tailgate and you have to have your tailgate down all the time, I've actually lost some loose items when carrying something like this, I've lost some loose items from the back of my truck, going down the highway. Well, there's a solution and that is the tailgate adjuster, it's going to allow you to adjust your tailgate in different positions, to help keep those items in the bed of your truck, keep you from losing them.As you can see here, this is going to work great for our longer loads, we're able to raise our tailgate up, kind of get the ladder up in the air rather than being in flat, potentially, maybe losing our ladder or anything else. This is also going to work great for your ATVs and your dirt bikes, you can use your tailgate as a wheel jump, so a lot of times when you put your dirt bike inside, the tire is going to stick out past the end of your bed just a little bit, you take your tailgate with the adjustment on it, lock it up against your back tire and it's going to keep your dirt bike from or four wheeler for that matter, from moving forward and backward in the bed of your truck while you're traveling.Another nice thing that I really like about this, as you can see with our tailgate up or ladder in place, maybe you have surf boards, are going to work basically the same way as we have our ladder here, you raised your tailgate up. Another thing that I really like about this set up is we're still able to use our tonneau cover, this being able to use our tonneau cover like this is going to help secure or better secure items up there towards the cab of that truck even with our tailgate, partially open.As I mentioned, we're going to have eight different locking positions. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with eTrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the DeeZee tailgate assist. What this is going to do is it's going to take the weight of your tailgate and slow it down and actually take the weight away from you and just allow the tailgate to slowly set down.We've all had those times when we are trying to open up the tailgate while carrying something and you can't hold the whole weight of the tailgate with one hand. Now you can see how much easier it is to open that tailgate and just let it drop and let the piston take the weight while you're still holding whatever you're holding. It's going to have a very low profile and non-invasive design, which is going to look really, really good when you close up your tailgate and you can't see it at all.When your lifting your tailgate into place it's going to have no resistance of when you're putting your tailgate back into closed position, but then when you see when you drop it it's going to take that weight and rest it easy.As you can see here, we do have a little bit of wear on the rubber coating on our cable and what will happen over time, that cable will begin to rust and if someone we're to drop your tailgate full force you could risk breaking those cables. This tailgate assist is not only going to make it easier to lower your tailgate, but it's also going to prolong the longevity of your cables on your tailgate.Now I'll go ahead and show you how to get everything installed. more

A common problem with trucks is whenever you go to open the tailgate, especially it you have something in your hands, you'll open it up and the tailgate wants to slam down and either have to let it slam or guide it down all while we're trying to hold everything in our hands.For their tailgate assist we're not gonna have to worry about holding our tailgate, we can simply open it up, it'll come down nice and slow so we don't have to worry about any damage. Today on our 2015 Ram 3500 heavy duty crew cab we're going to be installing the Dee Zee Tailgate Assist custom tailgate lowering system for Ram trucks, part number DZ43301. Now here is our fitting that we're going to need to install into the tailgate. It has the tool actually to install this little crush fitting that will allow you to thread the bolt in. All right, today's 2014 Dodge Ram pick up, we're going to start with part number DZ43301. This is DZ's tailgate assist. We're going to show the tailgate before and after. This is before. All right, the first thing we need to do is go ahead and open the tailgate and look for the hole that's built into your tailgate near the pivot point. We need to install 2 fittings. more

DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Lowering System Installation - 2013 Ford F-150- Video
Today in our 2013 Ford F150, well be installing the DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for pickup trucks part number DZ43200.Lets begin by showing you how the tailgate can just simply drop when you release it. To begin with, we need to adjust the nutsert tool so that theres approximately three quarters of an inch from the washer to the head of the bolt. If you need to move it, you simply loosen the nut and screw the bolt in or out to get to the proper length and then tighten down the nut. As you can see here, weve already got our three quarter inch length set properly.Next, were going to use an M5 Allen wrench, as well as a 10-millimeter wrench to install the nutsert in the opening in the tailgate pivot point. When installing this, were going to need to turn the nut 360 degrees nine times. To make things a little bit easier, were going to take our paint marker and mark one side of the nut so that we can keep count as were turning the nut in tighter. more

Hands-On with the Rack'Em Double Barrel Utility Trailer Tailgate Lift Assist w/ Chain- Video
Today on our utility trailer, we'll be installing the Rackem Double Barrel trailer gate assist, part number RA-27C. To begin with, we will need to go ahead and mark the four holes that we'll need to drill in our trailer, two in the gate where our chain will hook to the support bracket for lifting the gate up and down, and two on the actual side rail of the trailer. Once we have all four holes marked, we'll go ahead and begin drilling. The two gate holes will be a little bit smaller, and we can go ahead and just drill them straight through. Now for the section that has the springs in it that will mount to the side of our trailer, we're going to go ahead and start with the smaller drill bit first, and then go ahead and step up to the actual size. With all the holes drilled, we'll go ahead and mount the double spring mechanism on the side of the trailer. more

DeeZee Tailgate Assist Installation - 2003 Ford F-250- Video
Today on our 2003 Ford F250 Super Duty we'll be installing the DeeZee Tail Gate Assist, part number DZ43203. Our first step will be opening the tail gate. Next we'll go ahead and prepare and install the nutsert. Using the nutsert and nutsert tool we'll need to set the depth. There'll be 3/4 of an inch from the face of the washer at the end of the nutsert tool. Now we've got our depth set we'll go ahead and install it into the pre-drilled hole in the tail gate near the hinge. more
