With our installation solution already mixed in with our water and in our spray bottle, we can begin our install by spraying the front of our hood. We want to spray from the front edge of the hood with the mixed solution approximately 12 inches up the hood from side to side. Once we have it wet, we can then use the surface prep putty to scrub the entire front edge. more

Today on 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee, we'll be installing the Husky Shield Vehicle Paint Protectors for the hood and door edges, part number HL06411. We'll also be using part number HL07999 which is an installation kit for the Husky Shield Vehicle Paint Protectors and is not included. We want to begin by adding the contents of the solution into our 32 oz spray bottle provided in the kit. Once we have those mixed, we can shake and then spray the front edge of the hood with a mixed solution. Now, we'll grab our surface prep putty and scrub the entire front edge of our hood. Be sure to only use the surface prep putty when the surface is wet. If used on a dry surface, the putty will be sticky and not perform as intended. more

You want to make sure that you go ahead and clean this area of the grill here because once the bug shield's installed, it may be a little difficult to get in there, get any bugs or anything off. You want to start off with a nice clean area. Next we'll go ahead and raise up our hood. We'll do a quick test bit of our bug shield. more

To begin with well need to first open up the hood on our vehicle. Were then going to go ahead and do a trial fit of our bug shield hood protector. We want to make sure that the mounting holes will line up with the hood shield protector. The 4 holes on the underside of the hood that well be using to mount our new bug shield hood protector are located here. Theres two smaller holes on the outside of the hood and 2 larger holes toward the center that well be using. more

Now that we have our hood open, we'll find the weather strip here at the edge and according to the instructions we'll need to locate the push pin fasteners where our bug shied will attach. Today on our 2011 Ford Ranger we're going to install the Weathertech Bug Shield, part number wt50122. To begin with you may want to go ahead and clean the front edge of the hood b because once the bug shields on it may be a little difficult to clean underneath it. Let's begin by raising the hood' you'll notice there's a rubber strip at the front edge of the hood. There are three small fasteners as well as some adhesive that holds this strip to the hood.You'll need to remove this before the installation of the bug shield. You can usually get your fingers underneath and just pop them out. For the adhesive it works best to not scratch the hood-you can slide your finger along it slowly pulling on the weather stripping piece and it will slowly pull off. more

Today on our 2012 Ford F150 were going to install the EGR Super Guard Bug Shield part number 303371.First well need to go ahead and pop the hood on the truck. Next were going to raise the hood enough that we can temporarily fit our bug shield in place. Our new shield is going to have a total of 5 attachment points. Weve got one on each end that have screws attached and 3 attachment points across the center where well be using adhesive and clips to secure it. Now lets go ahead and test fit it in position. Well insert the plastic attachment up into the hood and then secure the shield with the screw and washer. more

Today on this 2010 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Series HD, we are going to be installing EGR bug shield part number 301401. When installing our bug shield, the first thing we need to do is go ahead and open up the hood. The bug shield is going to attach to the underside of the hood, using the existing holes. If you look here at the rear side and follow along the edge, you can see we have 5 existing holes here that we are going to use as our attaching points to our bug shield. With the existing holes located in the hood we can go ahead and start installing our bug shield. :32 more

Today we are going to install a bug shield on a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer and we are going to be using part number 321251 bug shield accessory for your vehicle. And now we will get started on showing you how it gets installed. Once you have your hood open, the first thing you want to do with your bug shield is go ahead and put it up there and give it a good test fit. Get a feel for how it is going to mount up, find the locations of the mounting holes, and get a good idea of what is going on. Once you figure out how the bug shield is going to install, go ahead and install the hardware. We will show you how that works next. Once you have the hardware installed on the hood we will loosely attach our bug shield. The hardware will just simply screw into the plastic blocks in the hood. Once we have our bug shield loosely installed, we will lower the hood and slide it back and forth in a way where it is centered on the hood the way you want it. more
