Installing the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit on a 2025 Buick Encore GX- Video
Hello, neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster 12-volt outlet kit on a 2025 Buick Encore GX. And this is gonna be a great addition and maybe even a required addition if you're using a portable braking system. Today we're putting the Blue Ox Patriot's braking system on our Encore, which is a great braking system, but in order to power it, you want 12-volt power that's constant and getting 12-volt power the entire time. While this vehicle does require a battery disconnect in order to flat tow it, the 12-volt outlet kit is run directly to the battery, so there's constant 12-volt power. And it's essentially just a cigarette-style lighter outlet. And it's gonna be a remote spot to where you mount it wherever you want and you'll always have the power to be able to plug in that braking system. more

How to Install the Demco 12 Volt Outlet Kit in a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Demco 12 volt outlet kit on a 2021 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. And this is a great option to add an extra outlet into your Jeep that's directly tied to your battery so you always have power. In more cases than not, we're installing these for a portable braking system because these run off of 12 volt power that have a cigarette style outlet that plugs in. Now the issue is a lot of your factory outlets really aren't this style anymore. Most of 'em have gone to a USB or that doesn't have 12 volt power when the car is off, and then many times the flat tow mode, you will have the key off so that doesn't have power and adding the Demco 12 volt kit will always have the power for the braking system to work properly. This kit allows you to mount the 12 volt outlet really anywhere inside of the vehicle and it does come with a long length of wire to be able to run to your batteries, so keep that in mind that you will be running this through a grommet into the engine bay to get power from the battery. more

How to Install: 12 Volt Outlet Kit, 20 amps on your 2023 Jeep Gladiator- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at Etrailer, and today we're taking a look at installing the Roadmaster 12-volt outlet kit, rated at 20 amps, on a 2023 Jeep Gladiator. Installation of a 12-volt outlet is super easy, you're essentially just gonna be running the outlet inside the vehicle so you can get constant power even when the vehicle's in flat tow mode. So for our instance, this works really well with a portable braking system. So really all we're gonna do is take the wires from that outlet, run it through the firewall, and we are gonna be extending our wires to get to the battery, but we just tie off the positive terminal, and the other wire goes to a ground, and then you'll have that constant 12-volt power even in that flat tow mode. A lot of times in this kit people will use the fuse tap, which also works pretty well. You already have a spade connector and it does come with a clip to allow you to do that, but we've found that most of the times we want to get this specifically to the battery, not off of fuses, because when some vehicles are in flat tow mode, it cuts power to a lot of different auxiliary electronics, and so going directly off the battery means that it's always gonna have that power, and when it comes to our braking system, that's what we're gonna be doing. more

So we ran this separate one here, making it easy to plug in, and also run directly to the battery. Now this USB charger will fit a standard 12 volt outlet in your car or your truck, your motorcycle or even your boat. It is a 3.3 amp charger which adapts to your device for safe recharging and you can charge two USB devices at the same time with up to five volts or 3.3 amps available to share or you can use in charge one USB-C device faster. So our 12 Volt Outlet Kit is gonna be required when we're using a portable braking system on our flat towed vehicle. Now a portable braking system is one such as the Blue Ox Patriot. It's gonna sit inside the driver foot well there and press on the pedal, using bracing from the back of the seat. And the reason we need a 12 Volt outlet kit for this braking system, is that the 12 Volt outlet in the center console there of the vehicle, is actually not powered while it's in tow mode. And this is what our charging outlet looks like when it's installed. It will mount flush against the wall inside your motor home or travel trailer. And it'll provide you with two USB ports as well as an auxiliary, 12 volt outlet. USB ports operate at five volts and they have a maximum output of 2.1 amps. Our auxiliary outlet here operates at 12 volts and provides between 10 and 20 amps depending on the gauge wiring you're using. more

Hey everybody, Connor here today at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster 12 volt outlet kit, here on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. Basically, what our 12 volt outlet kit is going to be for, it's going to be for a flat tow setup. Our Jeep here, we actually do have a 12 volt outlet on the dash. However, that 12 volt outlet is actually not going to be powered while our vehicle is set up in tow mode. Now, the reason we're going to need this 12 volt outlet active while we're towing is going to be for a supplemental braking system, such as the Blue Ox Patriot Three, which we see here. more

Hey everybody, I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're taking a quick look at the cup holder power inverter.So this just sits in your cup holder in your vehicle and gives you a good place to plug in any kind of accessory. We're going to have one AC plug and then two USB ports. So maybe if you work off a laptop in your car, maybe you're a claims adjuster or something like that. Or you're just working on the go a lot. This is going to make it really easy to plug in those items, make sure that they're charged up and ready to go, or that they can operate from the inverter directly.Plugs into that cigarette outlet or the 12 volt outlet in your vehicle. So pretty standard on most vehicles out there these days, and then gives you those easy plugs to go into.I'd say this is again, going to be for somebody who works in their car. more

Hi there, Buick owners. Today on your 2020 Buick Envision, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install a 12-volt outlet kit. A 12-volt outlet kit is going to give you a 12-volt source to power any of your accessories. And oftentimes, when you're setting up a vehicle for flat tow, the 12-volt outlets that are on your vehicle may only have power when you're. Got your vehicle running and you're driving it, but when you placed it into flat tow mode, they're no longer powered up, which does limit the braking systems that are available to you. If you're planning on using a portable system that requires a 12-volt outlet, you're going to need one that's powered all the time, even when you're flat towing, to operate that system.We put one on our Envision here today just for that reason, so they can use their Blue Ox Patriot braking system, and that's probably the most common application for this 12-volt outlet. more

Now this 175-watt inverter provides AC power for electronics and appliances. Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer. Today on our 2018 Ford Explorer, we're going to be taking a look at, and showing you how to install the Roadmaster 12 Volt Outlet Kit. So there's going to be a total of five main components, needed to flat tow your Explorer down the road. The first one is going to be your Base Plate and the Base Plate is going to provide us with a solid and reliable connection point, that way we can hook up our Tow Bar to it. The Tow Bar is going to be that second component, it's actually going to be the physical link that connects the front of your Explorer to the back of your Motorhome. The third component that you're going to need, is safety cables. more
