Highland Ratchet Tie-Down Straps Review- Video
Randy: Hey guys, it's Randy here at etrailer.com. Today, we're taking a look at the Highland cast aluminum ratchet straps. These are available in a four-pack, a two-pack, or individually, so just be sure you get the right part number you need for your application. Now, the cast aluminum handle that we have here on the strap really makes it very user friendly. I don't know if you're use to other styles of ratchet strap, but typically they're going to have a lot of sharp edges, and as we reach in and try to ratchet them, it tends to put more pressure on our fingers than what we like.In this case, you see with the cast aluminum. We don't have any sharp edges anywhere around here on the handle, and we've got a plenty wide enough grip there to get plenty of power on it to get things secured down properly.Now, the internal portion, you can see all through here, the barrel in which our straps going to ride on, and our release is going to be the standard steel with the clear zinc coating. more

Highland Retractable Ratchet Strap Review- Video
Now these straps have been designed for use in heavier duty applications. They're going to be 2" wide and 10' long. These are going to be excellent solutions for stowing just about any type of thing you might want to in a large utility trailer, or any trailer for that matter.The retractible portion is nice in the fact that you just hit one button and you see all that's going to be retracted back into the strap. It's going to eliminate the long tag end hanging out. It really helps to keep our hooks from hanging off the other end when we're trying to get it secured, and overall it just makes it a pretty straightforward and easy ratchet strap to use.Our S-hooks on both ends are going to be nice heavy-duty rubber coated hooks, nice thick diameter to them you can see there, and even on this very large D-ring they go around there without any big issue at all.The handle itself is going to be really nice and wide, smooth on the back, so getting a grip on it really isn't an issue at all. You're going to have our easy to get to release handle there marked in red.You've got kind of a matte yellow zinc finish over all the working surfaces there. more

Highland Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ford Expedition- Video
Today on our 2015 Ford Expedition, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Highland Sport Wing Hanging Style 4 Bike Rack. This bike rack is going to be part number 1370400. As you can see, we already have our bike up here in place, so you can see what it would like once you have everything assembled and your bike on the rack. Note that it does come with a 2 inch shank for your 2 inch receivers only and a hitch pin and clip. All right let's get a few measurements to start it off. Our closest distance would be the first measurement and that's going to be from the bend in the shank here to the back of the receiver at about 1 1/2 inches. Our overall that we've added to the vehicle with the back piece in the utmost position is going to be about 40 1/2 inches. more

Highland Tow Strap with Hooks Review- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the Highland 2 inch by 15 foot tow strip. As you can see it's got the zinc plated hook end, has a 10,000 brake limit and a 3,300 pound safe working load limit. Part number on it is H10175. The nylon strap's designed with the power web plus 360 design. It has a flexible edge, the high strength weave and it a class R coating which is a government rating for abrasion resistance. That makes our strap twenty percent more resistant to any kind of abrasion. Now that we've gone over the features, see how this thing works. With our zinc hooks on either end, we're just going to connect it to our disabled vehicle and hook it up to our tow vehicle and we can tow this thing wherever we want to go. more

Highland Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2013 Ford Taurus- Video
Today, on our 2013 Ford Taurus, we're going to be test fitting the Highland SportWing Two-Bike Rack for inch and a quarter or two inch hitches. Part number 5801200. We'll begin our test fit by assembling the insert and inserting the shank into the hitch. The adapter is two plates with the hole drilled through it. We're going to align those up. Now, I like to keep a hand on it as you insert it in to the hitch so the plate's hole doesn't come out of place with the hole in the shank. You need to line them up with the hitch hole. Take your anti-rattle hitch pin and throw that into place. more

Highland Retractable Ratchet Straps Review- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the Highland retractable 6 foot ratchet and tie-downs. Part number is 1151801 and it's sold in a pack of 2. As you can see, we have a 1 inch wide strap and it's 6 foot in length. This strap has a 500 pound working load limit and a break strength of 1,500 pounds. The hooks as you can see, have a nice vinyl coating on them. This is going to protect the surfaces that we intend to hook to and also keep the weather out so we don't have corrosion issues. more

Highland Bungee Cord Assortment Review- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the Highland 12 Piece Bungee Cord Assortment Kit, Part #9008600. This kit includes three minis, three 18" x 8 mm, two 24" x 8 mm, one 32" x 10 mm, One 40" x 10 mm and two canopy ties. This Highland Bungee Assortment Kit is going to allow us to tie down a wide variety of items, such as behind us here we have a large cooler, gas tank and then a smaller chainsaw. This assortment kit basically gives all of the lengths and sizes of bungee cords that we're going to need to secure all of our gear. A neat thing about it is they come in this nice little storage container. Depending on what kind of four wheeler you have, utility four wheeler, when you're finished with them you can simply just plop them back into your storage box whether on the front or rear of the four wheeler. It measures about 3-1/2 inches in diameter and about 9-1/2 inches tall. So it's going to fit in a wide variety of storage boxes, such as this ATV, it'll fit in that storage box, maybe underneath your pick-up truck seat or any kind of compartment in the trunk of your vehicle. Now what we'll do is we'll just go ahead and open them up and talk about the actual bungees. more

Highland Ratchet Tie Down Review- Video
Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Highland 14 foot ratchet strap tie down rated at 1,500 pounds, part number 11705. This Highland ratchet strap is a great utility when loading up cargo carriers, maybe securing ATVs or any other large cargo, maybe in the back of your pick up truck. You can see that here we have a whole bunch of our camping equipment and luggage loaded up in a cargo carrier. The Highland ratchet strap don't provide a lot of protection when securing our gear. Basically what we'll do is we'll just use one of the rubber coated hooks here to secure to one of the attachments points. Now, you see the hooks here are really nice, strong, sturdy steel construction. They have a nice rubber paint. more

Highland Heavy Duty Cambuckle Tie Down Review- Video
Today we're going to be taking a look at the Highland 12 foot heavy duty cambuckle tie-down, part number 10344. This tie-down has a wide variety of applications, from securing gear and cargo in your roof-mounted or hitch-mounted cargo basket to securing your ATV or your UTV in your bed of your pickup truck or your trailer. It is 12 foot in length and made of a heavy duty woven nylon. It has these extra heavy duty special stitchings that secures the rubber coated hook to the strap. This is going to provide a supreme strength and durability. Now the way that the edges of the strap are designed is that they have extra stitchings on the outside of the strap. Usually when straps fail, they get cut or torn here on the side and basically that ruins the strap. Well, these straps are designed to withstand rips and tears and cuts because of this specially designed edges of the strap. As you can see, this is the buckle of the strap. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Waterproof Roof Top Luggage Carrier, part number 10396. Here, we're going to give you the rundown of the inside of the bag. Here at the inside of the bag at the bottom, this hard plastic material, that's going to protect all of your gear. There's this clear pouch here at the top for all of your toiletries, such as shampoos, soaps, and toothpaste, to keep them all contained so they won't damage any of your clothes or any other materials inside the bag. Here on the outside of the bag, is a quick pouch that you can easily access documents and travel papers. It will expand to 15 cubic feet and Ill show you how that works in a few minutes. On the top is bungee cord thats crisscrossed across the whole top and what thats for is if your bag is not fully packed, you can compress the bag down and then tighten the bungee cord and lock it in place with this locking knob on the side. more

Draw-Tite Universal Pet Barrier Review- Video
Today, we're going to take a look at the Draw-Tite Universal Pet Barrier, part number 20045. The pet barrier is designed to go in the cargo area of a minivan or SUV and provide a barrier to prevent the animals from climbing over the seats and getting into the rear seats. We'll use the adjustable legs to get the barrier to fit between the roof of our vehicle and the floor of the cargo area. We'll use the wing nut to adjust and set the height. Highland Rear Floor Mats Review - 2003 Cadillac CTS- Video
Today were going to do a test fit of part number from Highland; this is our floor mat for our backseat on this 2003 Cadillac CTS. This also comes in a gray color part number 45031 as well as tan part number 44031. A couple notes about this floor mat is that it is trimmed to fit the vehicle because its a semi-customed fit and those have a ridge all around and channels inside to help keep the debris contained on the matt and not in your carpet. This can also be easily removed and cleaned with ordinary soap and water. With that, thatll finish it for our test fit of part number 46031 on our 2003 Cadillac CTS. more

Today were going to do a test fit of part number 46045 from Highland on this 2003 Cadillac CTS. This is our universal cargo mat. This also comes in gray as part number 45045 as well as tan part number 44045. Now these mats are semi-custom fit; they do have cutout lines inscribed onto the mat so you can make your mat fit the car the way you want it to. And the mat does have a small raised edge all the way around and channels in the middle of it to keep dirt and debris contained in the liner and not in your carpet. These liners are easily removed and cleaned with just soap and water as well. more

Today, we have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Were going to show you the Highland Semi-Custom Fit Floor Mats for the front, part number 46036. These mats are also available in gray, part number 45036 as well as tan, part number 44036. There are grooves and channels into these floor mats that are going to help hold moisture and debris on the floor mat and keep it off of your carpet. The mats are semi-custom fit, which means they had been in contour to fit the majority of the vehicle.
