If you have a 2021 Chevrolet Silverado and you're looking for a way to transport those longer items, anything like ladders or lumber, but at a more affordable price point, than the etrailer truck rack is gonna be a great option for you. So let's check it out. What I really like about a ladder rack is is it gonna offer you a lot more opportunities when you're trying to load your gear on your vehicle. So what I mean specifically for a truck is yes, you do have a lot of space in your bed, but what's gonna happen a lot of times is if you have anything that's extra long, like lumber, ladders or even a kayak, it's gonna stick out from the back of your bed, especially with the one we have today, this is gonna be a five and a half foot bed. So most items won't fit in here, super neat. more

If you have a 2025 Ram 1500 and you're trying to carry those longer items, anything like ladders or lumber from point A to point B and you're looking for more of an economic option to do that, then the Erickson Ladder Racks will be a great option for you. So let's check out the installation and some of the features about it. Now, one thing I would like to point out at the beginning is we do have this on a five and a half foot bed, so that is gonna affect the way it looks back here too. Something else to keep in mind is, like I said, this is gonna be more ideal for those ladders, lumber, or anything that's really just gonna have to sit on top of here, or that you might have to strap down to. Now, if you're looking for something that's gonna really either clamp around crossbars or use a T-channel, I'd recommend a different option, just because how large these crossbars are it's gonna be pretty difficult to do that with. more

If you have a 2024 Ram 1500, you like using a roof rack, but you don't like trying to reach up on top of your truck, because that is pretty high, then the Yakima BedRock's gonna be a great option for you. So let's check it out. Where I think this is really gonna stand out is if you have anything like roof boxes, or any type of basket, or so more of a container that you like using, but you don't wanna have to reach up on top of your truck, because the cab is pretty high up, and if those items, you don't want them exposed to the elements, being able to still use that roof box is gonna be really a great option for you, especially since you can just keep it here on your bed instead. Let's check it out. So for me, one of the biggest draws of the Ibex is the ease of installation and the ability to remove it if you're not using it all the time. This is a no drill bolt on installation and you've really just got four main attachment points for the rack in each corner. So let's check it out. And the reason why I recommend this for more of those recreational type uses, is mainly gonna be because of the height of this ladder rack. For two reasons, because if you look at this compared to your cab, since this isn't above your cab, it's not gonna be as ideal for those longer items. So if you have a ladder or some lumber, chances are they're probably gonna make contact with the cab or you really won't be able to get those longer ones on here. more

If you're looking for a heavy-duty but also sporty ladder rack, well, the OutPost might be an option for you. Usually I don't recommend this for short bed trucks like what we have here with our Ram 1500, but depending on what you're carrying, this actually might be a really good fit. This is gonna be a fixed height ladder rack. So compared to the OverHaul, which goes high enough to go over your cab for some cargo, the fixed height where it gives 13 inches above the rails is going to be great for things like storage with boxes or with rooftop tents. more

Adding a ladder rack to the back of your vehicle helps solve the issue of increasing your cargo space but not taking up all the room in your bed. So it takes advantage of that negative space above your bed and cab. So you can get those longer items like lumber, PVC pipe or ladders on the road with you or even out for fun times you can get your kayaks, your bicycles and basically any rooftop accessory. Starting at the top of our track rack system you're gonna have load stops that are gonna be adjustable, that you can use as tie downs, as well as ways to, you know, keep things from shifting as you're going on the road. So we're gonna take a look at the Overhaul HD on the back of the Silverado. As you can see with this configuration, I have it with the 68-inch bars that basically have no hangover to the side of the bed, but still maintain these tie-down points. Your adjustability with the Overhaul is going to allow you to go between 18 and 30 inches above the rails on the bed. So that's gonna give you plenty adjustability for things underneath the bars themselves to take advantage of the bed. Having a roof rack system in general is gonna allow you to get these items like the Yakima SkinnyWarrior out on the road with you. more

And today we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the ADARAC Aluminum Series custom truck bed ladder rack on the back of our 2023 Toyota Tacoma. Now when it comes to ladder racks, there's probably two routes that you're maybe going with this. You're either using this on the work side of things where you're carrying lumber, ladders, conduit, longer items that maybe don't fit very well in the truck bed so it's easier to put it up above the bed, where it can extend over the cab a bit. Or maybe it's more on the sports and rec side, where you plan on carrying kayaks, which, again, maybe don't fit in the bed super well. Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we've got my 2013 Ram 2500 and we're gonna be taking a look at, and I'm gonna show you how to install the Front Runner Slimline II Bed Rack. Front Runner makes a lot of racks that will mount to the top of your vehicle that you can see up here on top of my truck. A lot of people don't like to permanently mount their racks to the roof because they just use it during the summer or for a few trips a year. That's when this bed rack's gonna come in handy is you can mount the rails to the side rails of your truck and then if you take the bolts out you can slide this rack off and it's as if it was never there. The benefit of having this type of rack over top of your bed is so that if you ever run out of space when you're going on a long extended camping trip or if you like to go overlanding, you can load your bed up with stuff pretty quickly. more

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com. And we're taking a look at the Yakima OutPost Ladder Rack on our 2022 Toyota Tundra. Adding a ladder rack system to the back of your Tacoma is gonna allow you to take advantage of the negative space above your bed, and get those bigger bulkier items out on your journey along with you. With this setup, we actually have the 68 inch bars going across, so that's gonna give you an additional hangover space for tie-downs, and you can take advantage of the tie-down point on the end of your crossbar. Yakima also offers a HD strap that works in conjunction with your Yakima crossbars. You actually have a T-track slot along the top, and that's gonna allow you to put in eye loops or any other points. more

How's it going neighbors, this is Ed with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Thule ladder rack system, on our 2022 Chevrolet Colorado. So the rack itself is constructed of aircraft-grade aluminum, and it's powder coated, that's gonna hold up against the elements and protects you against corrosion. As far as the capacity, it's a whopping 800 pounds, so that's a lotta weight that you can put on the track rack system. You have included load stops, that are adjustable, to slide over to lock down your loads. And also, something I thought was cool about their load stops, at the very top, you have a tie-down point. The bar itself is 65 inches across, it's four inches wide and an inch and a half thick. more

Adding a ladder rack to the back of your Chevrolet Colorado is gonna allow you to increase your cargo capacity to carry those longer items that wouldn't necessarily fit inside the vehicle or in the bed itself. Our crossbars and uprights are made of extruded aluminum with a reinforced core to give you a nice solid 400 pound weight capacity. So these are very durable and corrosion resistant. How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Malone TradeSport Ladder Rack on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Adding a ladder rack system to the back of your pickup helps resolve the issue of needing to carry materials that are longer than the bed of your truck. With this one, this is a 6 1/2-foot box, and if you had longer lumber, a longer ladder than my demo ladder, or even like your sports and rec side, kind of how the name implies, if you have a surfboard, canoes, fishing rod holder, that's a longer one for like fly rods, this is gonna work for that as well. In general, this is just the best way to maximize negative space in the back of your vehicle that you otherwise wouldn't have access to. Let's grab some measurements to see what we're adding to the back of our vehicle. So from the bottom of the bed to the bar, we're right at 50 inches. more

How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Malone Cross Bed Ladder Rack System on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Having a ladder rack system is gonna allow you to get those longer items like ladders, lumber, PVC pipe, or even things for your sports and rec activities like canoes or bike carriers or T-track accessories. Included with the cross sport are gonna be four load stops that you're gonna be able to make adjustments with using the black knob, they fit into your T-track, which is 7/8-inch wide. That's gonna work with all your T-track accessories, and you'll be able to use the rubber stripping to fill in the spaces to help reduce wind noise. As far as your towers, these guys are gonna have a padding system that's underneath that makes contact with the top of the bed and a clamp on the rear to secure it to the top of the vehicle. You're 3.5 inches as far as the width, and then the thickness is right at an inch and a half. more

How's it going, neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com, and we're taking a look at the Yakima BedRock HD Ladder Rack System on our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. Adding a ladder rack system like the BedRock HD, it's gonna allow you to get those bigger, bulkier items out on the road, and it's gonna give you the flexibility to use things like bike carriers, roof boxes, and any T-Track accessories. Overall, our bars are gonna be 78-inches wide. The thickness is right at 2 1/2 inches and you're gonna be right at three-inches wide. You're gonna have a hook tie-down point here on the end that you can use the Yakima HD straps if you chose, or you can use any bungee cord or tie-down position. The towers actually are padded and they clamp onto the edge of your bed and it's gonna hold on securely. more

Hi Matt with etrailer and today we're talking about the Yakima Overhaul Ladder Rack System on the back of our 2024 GMC Sierra 1500. And this can be a great option for you if you're looking for something so you can haul a lot more items or you wanna do some camping or using it for recreational uses. So let's check it out. Our system today is gonna be comprised of three parts and the first one is gonna be up top and that's gonna be our 68 inch Yakima HD crossbars. So a few things about this one is up top you're gonna have this T channel that you can use for T channel accessories, which is really nice because this is a thicker bar so it's gonna be harder to put on a lot of clamp on accessories. And with that we're gonna have this included weather strip at the top that's gonna keep a lot of debris and water from getting in there and it's also gonna help reduce wind noise. more

The BeDrock HD is a solid option as far as ladder racks for the back of your F-150. Especially since this guy's the short bed crew cab, you're pretty limited as far as your cargo area, so this will allow you to take advantage of the space above your bed for those bigger bulkier items. The BedRock system is rated for up to 300 pounds on road and up to 180 pounds off road. The bars themselves are 78 inches long, about three inches wide and an inch and a half tall. So that's gonna work for your kayak carriers, cargo boxes and bike racks, just about any rooftop accessory that uses clamp hooks. more
