Review of the Thule Trunk Bike Racks on a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country

Today on our 2016 Chrysler Town and Country, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Raceway Pro 2-Bike Rack Trunk Mount, part number TH9001PRO. Now we have our bike on our rack and we have it hooked to our vehicle. I just want to show you a few things. Now we have our bike connected to the bike rack itself. We have a total of 3 straps, 2 up top and one to the side. Which we call an anti-sway strap, that's going to keep the bike from swaying, damaging your vehicle and your other bikes.

Let's go ahead and take the 2 up top first. Then we take off our anti-sway strap, now we can remove our bike. I'm going to set this to the side and since we have straps on our bike rack, we're going to go ahead and put them back so we don't lose them or damage them. All right, now I'm going to take one measurement just to show the overall distance we've added to our vehicle. I'm looking at 19 1/2 inches. Now these cradle arms do adjust, so by pulling up on the grey lever here we can bring them down, you can bring them up or even closer.

We're just going to bring them down, lock them in position. All right, now we're going to take one more measurement, so overall distance now, I'm looking at 9 inches. Now how we have our bike rack attached to the vehicle, we have a total of 4 straps. Each one a hook with a rubber coating, so it doesn't damage your vehicle. You have the 2 up top and the 2 below.

Now to adjust these, show you how we're going to do that, and up. This one here will be for the one on the top. All you do is press it. See that it has a little slide in it. To tighten it up, you take the small button and just turn it until it's nice and tight. Also, with this one on the bottom, the same way.

You just turn the bigger knob to tighten it up. It also has a lock so you can lock it down. You can leave it one your vehicle all night. Now another thing here, it has a nice little padding. This will protect your window, and also down here below the license plate that's going to protect your car. Now the only thing I can tell you, you cannot use your rear wiper when your bike rack is on your vehicle. That will be damaged, so just keep that in mind. Now, the fit kit for the 2016 Town and Country is 11. That's in your instructions, just make sure you get that, and the numbers, I can show you, are right here. The fit kit goes from, I believe that's 4, all the way up to 11, and the fit kit for this particular vehicle is 11. So, that's going to complete our look at the Thule Raceway Pro 2-Bike Trunk Mount, part number TH9001PRO on today's 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. Here it is on our test course. First, it's a sliding area, which simulates side to side action. I turn the corners for evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action, like hitting a pot hole, road debris, or hitting a curb. Following, we have the solid speed bumps which show the up and down action to simulate a parking garage, or coming out of your driveway.
