Today on our 2015 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to do a test fit of the Thule ThruRide Roof Bike Carrier. Part number is TH535. Now we have a bike on our carrier, and we have a carrier hooked to our vehicle. Let me show you a few features. Now how we have our bike connected, first we'll just show you the back. We have a wheel cradle back here with a strap with a bushing that's going to protect your spokes, so first we're going to remove that.
Now we're going to come up front. Right here we have our skewer. We have it engaged to disengage it. I'm going to press here. I'm holding onto my bike so it doesn't fall on the vehicle.
Now you can un-loosen it on the other side so we can take it off. This should be enough room. Take off our bike, and set it off to the side. Now, if you have any straps on your bike carrier, we always say replace them so you don't lose them or damage them, so we're going to do that first. Now while I'm back here I just want to let you know, if you have a bigger bike or a smaller bike, you actually can slide it to which way you need to go. The carrier itself, it can hold up to a nice sized tire.
I'm not exactly sure of the size, but mostly your mountain bikes, so that'll be good. Now right here, we just have our universal holder. Under our crossbars here we have two thumb screws with a plate. That plate has a rubber coating on it, and it's going to protect your crossbars and your vehicle also. Now we come up to the front, and we're going to open up our cover here and show you to engage this for your skewer, it's a little metal plate here. If you turn this right knob here, that loosens and tightens it, you close it up so it stays in place.
Now it also has the universal holders here, which you have our cam lever here which you can tighten it and un-loosen it, and you can also un-loosen it under here on the T bolts here. They slide in there like so, but you can actually turn them if you needed to loosen them or tighten them up, and you could also flip them around for even your smaller crossbars also. Let's go ahead and put that back down, and that's going to complete our look at the Thule ThruRide Roof Bike Carrier, and that part number again is TH535 on today's 2015 Toyota Tacoma. Here it is on our test course. First it's a slalom area, which simulates side to side action, like turning the corners, or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action like hitting a pothole, road debris, or hitting a curb. Finally we've got the solid speed bumps, which show the up and down action to simulate a parking garage, or coming out your driveway.
