Review of the Thule RideAlong Child Bike Seat

Today, we'll be taking a looking at the Thule RideAlong Rear-mounted Child Bike Seat. This is available in gray with part number TH100101. It's also available in Zinnia with part number TH100102. The Thule RideAlong Child Bike Seat is designed to accommodate children 9 months to 6 years. Has a weight capacity of 48 1/2 pounds. It's also designed to fit oval and round bike frames.

The Thule RideAlong Bike Seat is going to allow your child to ride behind you on your bicycle. One of the first things that we noticed about the Thule RideAlong Child Bike Seat is that it has a very comfortable design for your child. It has the adjustable harness straps and it has the adjustable foot rest so this seat is going to be able to grow with your child. It also features a reclining seat. That way, your child can sit upright or you can tilt it back so they can enjoy that nice nap. It's going to feature a DualBeam suspension that's really going to help absorb road bumps and shocks.

It also features the nice padded three-point shoulder harness system, along with the seat liner that is reversible so you can change colors. The seat will also adjust along the tracking. You just need to use this blue lever there and then you can slide the seat up or you can screw it back to its furthest position, depending on how much distance you want between the seat and the seat post of the bike. When it comes to safety, this ranks right up there at the top. We have some wings right here. Built-in wings that are going to prevent the child from being able to get their hands pinched if you lean this up against the wall.

It also has the leg fenders. This is going to prevent the child's legs from coming to contact with the wheel or the spokes. Here at the rear of the seat, we have a reflector right above the rear wheel that's going to help increase visibility. This also comes with an adapter so you can attach a bike light. You just peel off the backing to expose the adhesive, stick it on there, and then you can clip on the bike light to also help increase visibility. For added security, it comes with two keys.

That way, you can lock the seat into the quick release system. Now to remove this, you just move it to an unlock position, open the blue lever, and then you can pull up on the seat and disconnect it from the quick release system. This allows you to remove the seat from the bike while leaving the quick release system installed without interfering with your ride. You can also purchase additional quick release systems. Those are sold separately with part number TH100200. That way, you can remove the bike seat and apply it to other bicycles. To reinstall it, you just slide the forks down into the appropriate holes and you let it fall into place until you hear it click into position. The harness system and seat liner can easily be removed and they are machine-washable. Now here, underneath the liner, we have two little drains. This is to let out liquids if your child was to spill something or if you get caught in the rain. This is a very simple installation. The quick release bracket is going to clamp on the bike here at the back using two clamps and four Allen bolts. It does come with two different sizes of Allen bolts to accommodate the different frame sizes and it also comes with the included Allen key so you can loosen them and tighten them down. Now we're going to load up our little buddy and take it out and show you what it looks like in action. This is designed to fit most mountain bikes with 26-inch to 29-inch wheels without full suspensions and road bikes, along with hybrid bicycles. Please keep in mind that this cannot be mounted on bicycles with square, triangular, or carbon fiber frames. You can adjust your Thule RideAlong Child Bike Seat so it fits a bike with a low seat. You will need to purchase an adapter that's sold separately. That's available with part number TH100300. This is for children ages 9 months to 6 years. Please be cautious and consult a pediatrician for a child under one year old. This does meet DINEN14344 requirements for child bike safety and it's going to feature a five-year warranty. That's going to complete today's review of the Thule RideAlong Child Bike Seat, part number TH100101. .
