Review of the Thule Passage Trunk Bike Racks on a 2014 Toyota Corolla

Today, on our 2014 Toyota Corolla, we're doing a test fit of the Thule passage two bike carrier. That part number is TH910XT. We already have a bike on our rack. Let me show you a few features of it. Now, we have a bike mounted up on the bike rack. We have three straps; we have two straps up top, we have a strap to the side, which is our anti-sway strap.

Let's go ahead and upload. We take off the two straps on top first. Then we take off our anti-sway strap. Then, if you we're lowering your bike, you just do it the opposite way, anti-sway strap first, then the other two. We're going to set our bike to the side.

We always say get into a good habit to replace your straps, some might get damaged or lost. Let's go ahead and do that first. There we go. What I like to do is just do a quick measurement, just to show you how many inches we're added to our vehicle; out to the end of the cradle arms, I'm showing twenty-one inches. The cradle arms do adjust. They pretty much just rotate out of the way.

You press the two buttons here, bring it around, like so. Now, the distance has changed just a little bit. Let's take another measurement. I'm looking at approximately eleven inches. Let's just show you how it's all set up. We have a total of six hooks with a rubber coating, so it doesn't damage your vehicle.

We have two up top. We have two to the side. We have two below. The two up top, each one has a cam lever that can tighten and loosen. This is just the extra. On both sides, we have the same. Then, it's two straps on the side here, this one and this one, actually tighten, right here, at this buckle, so you pull it to tighten, just feed it inward to unloosen. We also have the four paddings, they protect your vehicle. With this vehicle, Thule has a fit guide which, for the Toyota Corolla, this year, the fit guide is seven, so each one of these knobs, you've got, eleven, ten, nine, eight, seven. What you do is just you take the screw out, set it to seven, screw it in, and we're ready to go. That's it for the test fit on the Thule passage two bike carrier. That part number of TH910XT, on today's 2014 Toyota Corolla. Let's see how it does on our test course. Here it is on our test course. First it's the sliding area 00:02:49, which simulates side to side action, by turning the corners or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action, like hitting a pothole, road debris, or hitting a curb. Finally, we have the silent 00:03:25 speed bumps, which show you up and down action to simulate a parking garage, or coming out of your driveway.
