Review of the Thule Ladder Racks on a 2015 Ford F-150

Today on our 2015 Ford F150 we are doing a test fit of the Thule Xsporter pro adjustable height truck bed ladder rack. That part number is TH500XT. Now we have it already on our vehicle already. Let me show you a few things about it. This is made out of a sturdy aluminum. What we have here, I want to show you the first ones on the inside. This is going to be adjustable up to 32 positions.

If you come here on the inside it has numbers starting from 01 and it goes down to 32. Right now we have it at 30. To adjust it you have to just back it off from on side, you go to the other side and you do the same. What I can show you here is, it actually comes down, as you see. You're going to make that adjustment.

You're going to bring it back up to where you need it to. As you are starting to tighten it down. There we go that will tighten it down. It does adjust also up top here. Say you're truck bed is a little closer. You could actually undue the two allen bolts up here, squeeze it in, tighten it up to whatever size you need it to go to. Also you see up top, we have our tie downs for our ladder or whatever items you like to put on your ladder rack.

These are adjustable too, turn this knob here and we can slide this all the way over to the other side. Slide that back, and tighten it. I have three of the four tie downs already on. I'm going to put on the last one here. Here are the two brackets. This bracket is going to have a lock on it.

What we have here, we want to bring down a screw maybe 3 or 4 threads. We have a little part here we need to put on. What we want to do is, the top part goes through a groove on top of it. The other part just slides on to the bottom. Slide that over and we're going to start it. Just want to get it started to get tightened. Then we want to tighten it up but we are going to do the other one too. You want to bring it down to probably about 3 or 4 threads. This is actually going to help clamp it down on the inside. Once again, taking that, making sure that goes in the groove underneath. We can start tightening this one down. An allen wrench does come with this, I'm going to use a socket to do it a little faster. That socket is 7/32, that's an allen socket. We're going to start doing this one first. Little awkward. Just get it nice and snug, make sure it doesn't move anywhere. That should be nice and snug, then we are going to go ahead and do the other one. When we get it nice and snug it has a cover with a lock on it. We slide it on like so, turn the key and it's locked. That will be our look at our Thule Xsporter pro adjustable height truck ladder rack, part number again is TH500XT on today's 2015 Ford F150.
