Review of the Thule Hitch Bike Racks on a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Hi everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Tooly 00:00:05 Double Track Pro on our 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. It's going to be able to hold up to two bikes with three different tie down points. We have one frame hook right here which is going to tighten down with this knob, and it does come with a key lock installed, which is going to be nice to give you that little bit of added comfort whenever you're traveling and you leave your car with your bikes installed. That lock's going to give you a lot of protection there. This is a wheel cradle style set up on the bottom.

We do have cam buckles type straps with these nice rubber sleeves that are going to protect your wheels. This will be able to accommodate for a lot of different bikes you throw at it. You have full 360 degree range with this middle one on the center mast and it does tilt as well like that. Also for those different wheel length bikes, you can slide these down. If you and your kid are going on a ride, you're going to have to accommodate for that shorter wheel base.

This is going to be very, very, very easy to do that.Let me just go ahead and show you how it comes off the rack. All you got to do is just, there's a little pressure pen here. You just press that down and just fish your strap through. Want to do that on the other side as well. I like to do these first just because they don't really hold up the bike.

That's what that frame hook up top does, and this way you won't have your bike fall on you or your truck. Like I said, you just twist this to loosen and tighten, and be sure to put a hand on your bike when you're doing this just so it doesn't fall. Once that's done, rotate down like that. We can even swing it out, and you can go ahead and lift your bike off rack.I always just replace my straps when I'm not using them. You don't have to, it's just personal preference.

Once that's done, we can press this knob right here, and that's going to allow us to tilt the center mast back down, which we can then tilt it up to the bed of our truck. The length right here, we have about 33 inches to this back wheel cradle. It's always nice to know whether you're going to have to tilt it up to the bed of your truck or remove it to let it fit into your garage, but if you need a little bit more weight you can lift this lever right here and it's going to snap into place, letting you know it's nice and secure.I would say our furthest point, be that center mass right there, that's about 13 and a quarter inches. It's a lot of length cut down on our vehicles so you shouldn't have any problems fitting it into your garage. Another useful measurement that people like is this ground clearance. We have about 17 and a half inches of ground clearance, which is plenty enough. I don't think you'll have any problems bottoming out on the Silverado. We do have a second locking core that's on our anti rattle bolt here. That's going to be key to like with your frame clamps up top. We do have a sleeve which is going to make it compatible with this two inch hitch receiver on our Silverado. You can actually take this off and it's going to be compatible with any inch and a quarter hitch as well. It does have an anti rattle bolt, which takes out all that shake and play inside the hitch. As you can see, this truck's really moving and there's no movement down in the hitch. Well, that's just about going to do it for a look at the Tooly Double Track Pro on our 2019 Chevy Silverado.
