Review of the Thule Hitch Bike Racks on a 2015 Hyundai Accent

Today at our 2015 Hyundai Accent, we're doing a test fit of the Thule roadway 2-bike rack. Hanging style. The part number is TH912XTR. I have our bike on our rack. On our rack onto the vehicle. I'd like to just show you a few things first.

Our bike is strapped down. We have a total of 3 straps. You have 2 up top. We have our soge 00:00:24 strap also know as our anti sway strap. First we're going to take the 2 off the top. Then we're going to take off our anti sway strap.

If you we're loading your bike, you would go anti sway strap first. Then the two on the top. Let's take of our bike, and go ahead and move it out the way. What I like to do is always replace your straps, so they won't get damaged or lost. We're going to do that first.

There we go. Now I'd like to just take a couple measurements. The first one would be over all distance we've added to our vehicle. Looking straight down, I'm looking at approximately 26 inches. Then our closest point to our lever here, that's going to be 3 inches. Then for our ground clearance, I'm going way down here.

I'm looking at 8 inches right there. The arms do come down. The cradle arms do come down. Let me show you how that happens. You pull up on the grey lever here, like so and you can bring them down. Once again, the overall distance has changed, so let's take another measurement. I'm looking at approximately 12 inches here. There's another feature on here which is the tilting feature. What we do is we come down here. Grabbing our lever. You can actually pull back, and when it's in this position. Just to let you know you can get in and out your trunk, and you have plenty of room on both sides. To put anything in or take anything out. We're going to o bring it back up to our upright position. I'm going to come down here and we're using a 1 1/4 hitch today. This is adapted for 2 inch hitches also. We have an anti rattle bolts, so it's going to take out some of that movement in your shink as you're riding down the road. That's going to be it on our look at the Thule roadway 2-bike rack hanging style. That part number again is TH912XTR on today's 2015 Hyundai Accent. Let's see our performance on our test course. Here it is on our test course. First is the slodem 00:02:38 area which simulates side to side action, like turning a corners or avascent maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps which show you the twisting action, like hitting a pothole, road debris, or hitting a curb. Finally we're at the solid speed bumps which show you up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out your driveway.
