Today on our 2016 Chrysler Town and Country, we're doing a test fit of the Thule Archway XT Two Bike Rack Trunk Mount. Part Number TH9009XT. We have a bike on our rack and we have our rack hooked to our vehicle, just going to show you a few things. How we have our bike connected to our bike rack itself, we have a total of three straps, two up top, one to the side, which is our anti-sway strap. That's going to help the bike from swaying much so it won't damage your vehicle or your other bikes. I'm just going to take the two up top first, we take off our anti-sway strap, remove our bike, set it out the way, and come back. Replace our straps so we don't lose them or damage them.
Alrighty, now we're going to take a few measurements. The first measurement we like to take, the overall distance to see what we added. We added 22 inches to our vehicle. The cradlearms do adjust. This lever here, you bring out, you can unloosen it and tighten it. Unloosen is that way, tighten is towards you.
Bring this out. Do the same thing over here. May have to give it a little bit. Bring it out. There we go. We're going to take one more measurement.
Overall distance now, we're looking at 9.5 inches. With your bike rack on the vehicle, you can get into your rear hatch, as you can see. It does stay on. We wanted to at least show you that. How we have our bike rack connected to our vehicle, we have a total of 6 straps. Each strap has a hook with a rubber coating.
We have the two up top, the two to the side, and we have the two underneath. The two up top have the individual cam levers that tighten and loosen. Here for the right. Here for the left. This cam lever on the right here, I mean on the left, will go for this one and that one, then you havce the one on the other side also. We have four pads. We have two on the window to protect the window and two beneath the license plate, it protects that. The only thing I can tell you, you cannot use your rear wiper when your bike rack is on your vehicle, just keep that in mind. The fit kit for the 2016 Chrysler Town and Country is set at 11. We already have it set here. It's from 4 to 11. You just take your levers here, bring it to 11 and you're good to go. That's going to complete our look at the Thule Archway XT 2 bike rack truck mount. That part number again is TH9009XT on today's 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. Here it is on our test course. First is the slalom area, which simulates side-to-side action like turning the corners or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action like hitting a pot hole, road debris, or hitting a curb. Finally we are the solid speed bumps, which show you up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out your driveway.
