Review of the Swagman Hitch Bike Racks on a 2015 Toyota Tacoma

Today at our 2015 Toyota Tacoma, we're doing a test fit of the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Rack Platform Style. Part number: S64684. Now we have a bike on our rack and we have a rack hooked to our vehicle. Just going to show you a few features. Now how our bike is connected to our bike rack itself, we have our frame hook here. How we engage and disengage it. To disengage it press the nob here, always hold on to your bike, and just pull up.

To engage it just pull down until it stops clicking. Now, each tire is sitting in a wheel cradle. Each one of them has a strap with a rubber bushing, that's going to protect your tire and your spokes. Let's go ahead and remove one here. Kind of stick this out that way.

There we go. Go to the other side and do this one. Like so. Now we can disengage our frame hook and remove our bike, all righty. Set this off to the side and if you have any straps on your bike rack it's always good to go ahead and put them back so you don't lose them or damage them.

All righty. Now we are ready to take a couple of measurements. First will be overall distance. Overall distance, I'm looking at 31 inches. For our ground clearance, I'm looking at 16 1/2 inches here. In the closest point to our bike rack itself, it's going to be 9 inches here.

Now the mast has to come down. We have our black lever here, we just pull up and we can bring our mast down. Now when the mast is down you should be able to get in to the back of your truck bed. As we let down the tailgate you see it doesn't touch, so that's a good thing and just make sure to keep in mind . If it touches your vehicle, may damage your vehicle or your bike rack itself. Now with this bike rack it's equipped for 2 inch hitches only. It also comes with a anti-rattle boat and clip. That's going to help keep some of that movement out of your shank when you're riding down that road. That's going to complete our look at the Swagman Dispatch 2 Bike Rack Platform Style. Part number again is S64684 on today's 2015 Toyota Tacoma. Let's see how it does on our test course. Here it is on our test course. First is a slalomed area, which simulates side-to-side action, like turning the corners or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action like hitting a pot hole, road debris, or hitting a curb. Finally we are at the solid speed bumps which show you up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out your driveway.
