Review of the Swagman Hitch Bike Racks on a 2015 Chrysler 300

Today on our 2015 Chrysler 300 we're going to do a test fit of the Swagman XC 2-bike rack, platform style. Part number is S64650. We have a bike on our rack and we have a rack on our vehicle. We're going to show you a few features of it. Our bike rack itself, we have this frame hook here that's pretty much engage. We have the wheel cradles. This is pretty much just holding the tires in place.

But how we engage this, to disengage it push the button here and just pull up. If you want to engage it just bring it down until it stops clicking, like so. Let's go ahead and disengage it again. Then we can remove our bike. I'm going to set this off to the side. The first thing I'll do, I'll just take a few measurements and show you some other features.

The first measurement will be overall distance coming out to here I'm looking at 17 inches. Our closest point, I'm going to come right here and that looks like it's going to be 8 1/2 inches. Then for our ground clearance I'm looking right here, I'm looking at 11 inches there. If you need to get in the trunk the mast does come down. We're going to pull this pin down here like so and we can lay it down either way, it doesn't really matter.

Insert our pin. Now we can get in our trunk, so if you need to put anything in or take anything out you should have no problems at all. Now we're going to bring our mast back up, show you another position. The cradle arms do come up, so we're going to show you how we do that. We're going to pull the pin here, we're going to bring it up, insert the pin here. There we go.

While I'm down here, the wheel cradles themselves, they actually can move. All you do is turn the knobs, unloosen it, and they slide up and down on the frame here so you can have any size bike that you want on your bike rack. Let's go ahead and pull this pin, bring it up, insert the pin there. That will be our last position. This will be like your stow position. We're using an 1 1/4 hitch today. This is also equipped for 2 inch hitches also. It does come with an anti-rattle bolt and clip so that's going to keep out some of that movement in your shank as you're riding down the road. That's going to complete our look at the Swagman XC 2-bike rack, platform style. That part number again is S64650 on today's 2015 Chrysler 300.
