Review of the Swagman Hitch Bike Racks on a 2013 Toyota RAV4
Today on our 2013 Toyota RAV4 we have our Swagmann XC 2 bike platform bike rack, part number S64650. This bike rack has 1 lock holding your bike in place. It's our frame hook. To take our bike off we just squeeze on the lever and lift up. Now, if you need to get in your hatch, we can move this by pulling 1 pin and laying it down. Then we can re-insert the pin to lock it in place. Now that we have that down, let's take a couple measurements.
The length that we add is about 20 inches. Our clearance height at the bottom of these bolts is about 14 inches. The closest point to our bumper is about 7 1/2 inches here. Now that we have our mast down it's easy to get in and out of our hatchback. It also gives us plenty of space to step around if we need to get something deeper inside. Just got to watch the hooks.
Now if you want to get it ready for storage you pull the pin out, and lift your mast up. Then you can pull the pins out on each side. Then your sides fold up. Simply replace your pins. You've got it nice and compact so that you can take it off, and put it in your trunk if you need to. This one does come with an anti-rattle bolt and clip.
Gives you a nice solid mount so it's not going to rattle on you when you're driving down the road. That's our look at the Swagman XC 2 bike platform bike rack on our 2013 Toyota RAV4. Let's see how it does on the test course.
