Today on our 2016 Chrysler Town and Country, we're going to do a test fit of the Softride Element Parallelogram four bike rack. Part number is SR26248. I have a bike on our rack, and we have our rack hooked to our vehicle. Just going to show you a few things. With he bike on the rack, it actually has a tilting feature. We're going to come here, pull the black handle.
Going to bring it out. All righty, now we should be able to get inside our hatch. Now, here it actually touches. I can actually move it out the way so I can completely open, but I don't want to do that. Just want to let you know that if you have a bigger bike with longer handlebars, it will touch.
Just keep that in mind. With the bike rack like this, it's good for if you need to work on it or any other such thing you need to do. We're going to pull it back. It locks in position. How our bike rack is connected to our bike .. I mean, our bike is connected to our bike rack itself, it's just two straps.
We're going to take those two off now. Set the bike off to the side. We're going to go back and make sure we replace our straps so we don't lose them or damage them. All right, now we're going to take a few measurements. First measurement will be overall distance was added to our vehicle. I'm looking at thirty one inches.
For our ground clearance, I'm looking at eleven inches there. For our closest point to our bike rack itself, we're going to look at two inches right in here. The crater arms do come down. How we will do that, we have two pin and clips here. Take out each one, swing it around, line of the holes, reinsert the pin and clip. Do the same thing over here. All righty, now we're going to take one more measurement for overall distance again. That measurement will be . I'm looking at ten inches. Today, we're using a two inch hitch. This comes actually with an anti-rattle bolt and lock. This is also can be equipped to an inch and a quarter. Just want to keep that in mind. That's going to be it for our look at the Softride Element Parallelogram four bike rack. That part number again is: SR26248. On today's 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. Here it is on our test scores. First is the slalom area, which simulates side to side action like turning the corners, or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action like hitting a pot hole, road debris, or hitting a curb. Finally, we have the solid speed pumps, which show you up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out your driveway.
