Today on our 2015 Toyota Tacoma we're doing a test fit of the the Saris Thelma 3 bike rack platform style, part number is SA4239B. We have a bike on our rack, we have a rack hooked to our vehicle. I'd just like to show you a few features of it. How our bike is connected to our bike rack itself, we have our wheel mounts. Here our front cradle has a strap there, so we're going to go ahead and release this, take that out and set that to the side. Then we are going to go to the back, same thing, and I'm always holding on to my bike so it doesn't fall on your vehicle. Now we're going to take our bike off, set it off to the side.
We're going to come back, we're going to replace our straps so we don't lose them or damage them. Alrighty, go ahead and do this one too. Now let's take a few measurements, the first will be overall distance we've added to our vehicle and I'm looking at 39 inches. For our ground clearance I'm looking at 24 1/2 inches there and then for closest point on our bumper to the bike rack will be 5 inches here. The wheel cradle here actually has another dimension where if you flip this it actually fits a tire that is actually 29 inches. Just want to keep that in mind we have a bigger bike it actually can fit but we want to bring this all the way down.
Now if we ever could get inside our tailgate but this actually almost touches right here on our wheel cradles there so I'm not going to bring it all the way down. We have an extra set of hands if you need to put something in your tailgate or inaudible 00:02:07 I'm sorry, you shouldn't have any problems. This has a forwarding position, say you need inaudible 00:02:14 so we have a pinion clip here Im going to pull out, let that dangle, we're going to bring it all the way up, insert the pinion clip. Once again we're going to take a couple of measurements, probably all three. First will be overall distance and I'm looking here, that's going to be 10 1/2 inches. For our ground clearance, come way down here I'm looking at 17 1/2 inches.
The closest to our bike rack now is actually going to be right here at the wheel cradle and that's going to be 2 inches right here. Today we're using a 2 inch hitch. This is also adaptable for an inch and a quarter. It does come with an anti-rattle bolt so that's going to help keep some of that movement out of your shank as you're driving down the road. That's going to be it at our complete look at the Saris Thelma 3 bike rack platform style. That part number again is SA4239B on today's 2015 Toyota Tacoma.
