Today we're going to be taking a look at the Saris Bike Bunk 2 Bike Storage Rack, Part #SA6007. The Saris Bike Bunk is a free-standing bike stand; it holds your bike here and here kind of like a bunk bed. It has these soft pads here that can be slid up and down the mast of the bike stand to protect any painted surface or delicate wall of your apartment or garage. It has a rubber cap here on the top and on the bottom to also help protect the finish and to keep the bare metal covered. The cradles here which actually hold the bike by the frame have these rubber protective caps on; that's not going to damage or scratch your bike frame. The cradles itself actually slide up and down the mast of the bike stand to accommodate different bike heights, different bike sizes and styles. Just loosen up this bolt with a socket or a wrench and then you can simply slide up and down here. Just tighten it back in place and we're good to go. If you want more of a permanent stand, the Bike Bunk also comes with this hardware. These are long wood screws that you can replace this bolt here and anchor it to the stud in your home or apartment. There's a bolt here that you can insert the wood screw through and also there's a hole up at the top.
You'll have to remove this rubber cap, and then you'll just put the wood screw in through the hole and then secure it to the stud. It's coated in a black finish which is going to help resist rust and corrosion. It's made in the USA and comes with a limited lifetime warranty. Now we'll go ahead and load up our bikes; we'll simply just place the top two frame of our bike into the cradles of the bike stand. I'm noticing here that the frame does come in contact with the rubber coated cradles. Now when you load your second bike you want to make sure that the bikes are staggered so that the handle bars are opposite of each other so that the tire won't come in contact with the handle bars and it allows for easier loading. Now another great thing about the Saris Bike Bunk is that if you have the need to hold an additional two bikes, you can buy another Saris Bike Bunk and attach the two together like so. You would just use the same mounting holes as you would if you we're to bolt it to the stud, just the center bolts and then the bolts that holds at the top under the cap. Put the pads next to each other so it doesn't damage. And the hardware to secure the two together are not included.
But it requires two 4-1/2 inch long 1/4-20 bolts. That'll complete today's review of the Saris Bike Bunk 2 Bike Storage Rack, Part #SA6007. .
