Review of the RockyMounts Ski and Snowboard Racks on a 2010 Toyota Highlander

Today on our 2010 Toyota Highlander we're doing a test-fit of the RockyMounts LiftOp Biggie Ski and Snowboard Carrier. That part number is RKY1482. Now we already have the front half of our carrier in place and secure so we're just going to show you the back half. First thing we're going to do is just place it onto our crossbars and slide those along. We want our front and back to line up and then we'll open up the carrier, take the little strap, and set it in place around the back in the slot there. With that in place we can kind of even out the carrier and make sure that stays in place. Now we've got a spot here for the bolt and we'll just use the included tool and tighten that down.

That's just going to tighten the strap around the crossbar and secure that in place. Then with that tightened down, we'll take our cover and we want to slip it back over where our strap is. We'll come up to the middle here and there's going to be a bolt down in the channel of the carrier. We'll just start to tighten that down. That's just going to prevent that foot down here at the bottom from moving and swiveling. With that secure, we'll keep our carrier open and head around to the other side and do the same thing. We'll rotate our foot here so that the strap comes around on the same end on this side.

Open up our cover. Set that off to the side and place our strap. Again, tighten that down. What's great about the straps, they do fit around different types of bars that we have like our arrow bars here or even your square or round bars as well. With that secure, we can secure the top. These carriers fit up to five flat skis or four snowboards or you can even do a combination of the two.

You can leave that open and we'll load up a few skis and snowboards. I've got a pair of skis here. I'll just set them in the channel and push them over as far as I can. Then I'll grab my two snowboards. I have them bottom to bottom here and again, we'll just slide those over.

Close up our cover. We also have the option to lock those to secure them even further in case you wanted to keep your boards on your vehicle. That's going to be our completed look at the RockyMounts LiftOp Biggie Ski and Snowboard Carrier. Part number again is RKY1482 on our 2010 Toyota Highlander.
