Today on our 2017 Toyota Corolla we're going to be test fitting the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles roof bike rack, part number RKY1202. We already have a bike installed on the rack. Let's take a closer look and show off some of the features. How this bike grips to your bike rack, we're going to have three points of contact with no frame contact at all. Instead, we'll have this wheel hook up at the front and these two wheel straps for both wheels. These are adjustable to accommodate bikes of different size.
With everything installed as it is right now, we're not going to have any issues with clearance between the trunk and the bike rack itself, as you can see here. Let's go ahead and take the bike off and set it aside. We'll start with the wheel straps. You'll push the top portion of the strap like so, and that will release it. Then holding onto the bike rack, we'll push this blue trigger at the top here in like so. That will push the hook away.
Not to put it back in position, you just grip it by the brass knuckle and push down. Now to lift this up and off. Now how this attaches to your roof, we're going to have this bracket here with these two screws and this plate, which will sandwich our rear crossbar. Then at the front we'll have two rubber-coated steel straps and this screw to tighten them down up at the top. Now these do have these open slots here which you can place lock cores in, so once you install this you can actually secure it to your roof rack as well as the bike to the bike rack. There you have it for the RockyMounts BrassKnuckles roof bike rack, part number RKY1202, on our 2017 Toyota Corolla..
