Review of the Rhino Rack MountainTrail Roof-Bike Racks on a 2015 Nissan Rogue

Today on our 2015 Nissan Rogue, we're going to be doing the test fit of the Rhino-Rack's Mountain Trail Rooftop-Mounted Bike Rack. As you can see, we already have our Rhino-Rack crossbar installed up here, and we're going to be placing it on here to show you how it looks and fits. First step we're going to do once we get it up here is going to be to remove the cover. If you have a lock or a key for it, go ahead and unlock that and pull it off. We'll set that to the side temporarily while we undo our straps. To undo the straps, you're going to pull them out of the T-grooves right there just like so. We'll bring it back on the other side of the bar, slide those straps underneath.

I'm going to undo the back one and pull that off here. We'll slide that one off, bring that one bolt over, set it down on top of the rail, bring it over, and place it up through the hole. We may need to adjust it a little bit just to make sure it's nice and squared up. You've got plenty of meat to thread into. We'll just tighten that up.

We're going to leave it semi-loose until we get that front one done. With this front one, you're going to need your Allen key for it just to loosen up that front piece here. That will give you enough slack to where you can pull these out a little bit and be able to get them over the bar just like so. Now, let's tighten it up. Once we have that tight, we'll place that plastic cover back over the front just like so and finish tightening up the back. Once we have it all tight and secure, let's undo the skewer up front by lifting .. and then noting that these are adjustable.

Undo the back strap, and we'll grab our bike and show you how that looks. First thing we'll do is slide that back tire up onto the cradle in the bike rack, and then, we'll set our skewers up front here. We have a little bit of a problem just because we need to get a little more room. In order to get a little more room, we'll set our bike down temporarily and we'll come up top and unscrew it a little bit. Once we have our skewer opened up a little more, we'll do the same thing. Place the back tire up and then the in the skewer up front just like so.

You can tighten that back down, and then once you push this in, it's going to clamp around the bike. You'll hear it kind of make a click of sorts just like so. With the front tire secured, let's move to the back. Make sure that you have an even amount of space between your spokes so when you bring your strap through you don't damage it. Pull down and secure it and you're ready to hit the road with your new Rhino-Rack Mountain Trail Rooftop-Mounted Bike Carrier, part number RBC035. Now, you've seen how it looks and fits. Let's see how it does on our test course. Here you see it out on our test course. First is the slalom, which shows the side to side action to simulate turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternating speed bumps, which show you the twisting action such as hitting a pothole, road debris, or going over a curb. Finally, we will finish with the solid speed bumps, which show the up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out of a driveway. .
