Review of the Rhino Rack MountainTrail Roof-Bike Racks on a 2015 Cadillac SRX

Today on our 2015 Cadillac SRX, we are testing the Rhino Rack Mountain Trail Roof Bike Rack, Product Number RBC035. Now as you can see here, we do already have our bike up so we are going to show you how to take that out and how everything connects and hooks on to your bars up here. First we start at the back. We want to take off the wheel first because the fork mounts are important and they keep the bike stabilized when it is up here. You just push up on this little tab here and feed that strap through. Then up front, we have this little skewer here. You are just going to pull that down and as you can see, it does tighten and loosen to fit whatever bike frame you have.

You just take that down and we are going to set our bike off to the side. Now a good idea whenever you are not using this to carry a bike would be to the strap back and replace it. Now if you look up here, we do have this cover that covers the bolt that screws in and tightens everything to keep the bike down. This torque wrench is included in your kit. You are just going to fit it in there and that will help loosen or tighten, depending on what kind of bars you have on your car. These straps here, once you loosen it enough, you will be able to pull them down and off of your bars.

Just a little more. They are a bit difficult to pull off. Once you get them down, it is easy to get everything off of there. As you can see back here, we do use a bar and screws. You just loosen these thumb screws right here and that will loosen the back part of the rack so you can get everything down and store it away whenever you are not using it. This cap, to put it back on, you just replace the front part right down here and it just snaps in like that.

It does have a lock on the top so you can keep your bike and your rack safe and nobody can steal that from you. Today you have seen the Rhino Rack Mountain Trail Roof Bike Rack and how fits on our Cadillac SRX. Here on our test course, we will start by going to through the slalom. This is going to show us the side to side action which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Once we get to the alternating speed bumps, we will see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pot hole or driving over uneven pavement.

Once we get to the full speed bumps, we will see the up and down action. This will be just like driving in and out of a parking lot, garage or driveway.
