Review of the Rhino Rack Hitch Bike Racks on a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica

Hi everyone. Adam with etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rhino-Rack 2 bike rack on our 2020 Chrysler Pacifica. So this is going to be one of your economical choices to get two bikes to and from your destination. Really simple. We're just going to have to tie down points up top with a soft durable rubber strap and that same strap on bottom for our third and that's going to be our anti sway cradle.

So that's just going to limit that bike to bike contact that you get when you're stopping and starting, driving down the road. So let's go ahead and just remove these straps. Pretty easy, and of course, like I said before, nice and soft yet durable, so it's not going to scratch your bike frame at all. Same ones on each. Now we can go ahead and just take the bike off the rack.

Pretty simple stuff. So when it comes to hanging style bike racks, some of them are just extremely, extremely basic, but most of them do take care of your bike frames as does this one.We have a somewhat softer plastic on the bottom and it does leave little spaces for our bike cables just so they're not smashing up against our frame, but really what sets this one apart from some of the other hanging styles is just how easy it is to collapse these arms. Before I collapse them, I'm going to just take a measurement from the bumper all the way to the edge of our reflectors at the end. It's going to be about 26 and a quarter inches from our bumper, but we can cut that down a little bit. That's where this one sets itself apart.

Really, really easy knob. Super, super simple, comes down and it will snap into place just like that. That is going to bring our distance down to about . 13 and a half inches. We take quite a bit off there so it should be able to fit into your garage unless it's an extremely tight squeeze.

You might have to take it out of your hitch, but one thing we don't have to remove this thing out of our hitch for is to access our back hatch.Another one of these easy, easy levers. Just rotate it, lean it back, and then we can grab whatever we need out of the back of the Pacifica. One big thing with me, with any hitch mounted accessory, whether it's a bike or a cargo basket is just the fact that I can still use my vehicle how it was intended without having this thing in there. So luckily we don't really lose any functionality of our vehicle. Lean it back up, snaps into place, pretty easy to do. Let's go ahead and look down at the shank. It is going to be available only in a two inch hitch receiver, so just be sure to check which one you have on your vehicle before purchasing. It doesn't stick out a whole lot. From the center of the anti-rattle bolt to the edge, going to be about 14 and a quarter inches and ground clearance at that is going to be about 13 inches, so we really won't have any issues bottoming out. This car does sit really low, but again, I don't think we'll have any issues. It does come with an anti rattle bolt, some do not. This one does, which is nice. So as you can see, we don't have any movement in the hitch, but our car was really moving, so it's really solid and together, so that's awesome. Other than that, there's nothing else really to go over. Just the fact that I would pick this one if I was looking for a hanging style two bike rack, it's just super easy to do this. Super simple, no pins, no clips, no nothing. You don't got to do anything like that. We can still access the back of our Pacifica. So definitely a thumbs up from me. But other than that, again, this was the Rhino-Rack 2 hanging style bike rack on our 2020 Chrysler Pacifica.
