Review of a Reese Gooseneck Hitch Ball

Today, well be installing the Reese Gooseneck Hitch Ball with 2-5/16 diameter and a 5-inch offset, Part Number 19308.To install the new Gooseneck ball, well simply go ahead and pull the handle and unlock the ball or Gooseneck head. Then we can go ahead and remove the older manufacturers ball. Now, well go ahead and install the new Reese Gooseneck ball with the 5-inch offset. Well line up the grue in the offset with the nipple and the gooseneck head.We can then go ahead and drop it into place. Well now go ahead and lock into position with the handle from the gooseneck head. Now, its locked into place, you can see its not going anywhere.Now, with our new gooseneck ball in place, itll give us an additional five inches of extra room between the gooseneck trailer and the back of your cab for those times we need a little extra space between the cab of the truck and the gooseneck trailer.The new Reese Gooseneck Ball is good for 20,000 pounds of gross trailer weight and 5,000 pounds of towing weight.There you have it for the new Reese Gooseneck Ball with 2-5/16 diameter and a 5-inch offset, Part Number 19308..

How do you attach the locking rod to the truck? Right now I have a Ball with a locking tab on top.

The Draw-Tite # 19308 offset gooseneck ball replaces the ball that came with your original installation which should already have a locking rod. If you can identify the brand and model number I can find additional information.

When you have a Ford factory 5th wheel hitch added it gives you the center hole and 4 puck holes. Question is when you drop the extender leg (which has a hole in it) arm down thru that center. What goes thru that hole to secure the whole extender from poping out?

If you have the factory puck system you can use the Curt # C60618 removable ball and safety chain kit. This will not need the traditional locking rod.

@KenP Take a look at the B&W # BWTEXA4200 gooseneck extension coupler. This will let you use the drop in gooseneck ball I previously mentioned and give you additional clearance. With the puck system you will have to use the drop in ball that self locks. The puck systems do not have a lever lock system.

If you have the factory puck system, then you cannot use a regular drop in ball that normally would have a locking rod, but you can use the Curt # C60618 kit. If you additionally need an offset then you would have to use the B&W # BWTEXA4200 "Extend-A-Goose."
