Review of the Pro Series Hitch Bike Racks on a 2015 Toyota Tacoma

Today on our 2015 Toyota Tacoma we're doing a test fit of the Pro Series Q-Slot 2 and 4 Bike Rack Platform Style. Part number is PS63138. Now we have a bike on our rack and we have a rack onto our vehicle. I'm just going to show you a few features. The first feature I am going to show you is how we have our bike connected to our bike rack. Now we have our wheel cradles, front and back. Each cradle has a strap.

This is going to protect our wheels and spokes, just hold them down. We're going to remove those first. Now I'm going to come here and remove our frame hook. We have to turn this black knob here to loosen it, then we can bring it up or like I said when you bring one end and engage it, you just bring it down and tighten it down. We're going to bring it up, always hold onto your bike, tighten this back up so we can remove our bike.

All right. Take this and set it up to the side. Now I'm going to go back and replace our straps so we don't lose them or damage them. There we go. All right, there we go. Now we're going to take a few measurements.

Now this is equipped for either 2 bike rack or 4, so we're going to take double the measurements. First one will be overall distance now. We're looking at 44 inches overall. Now if we're doing the 2 bike rack, we're looking at 24 1/2 inches. Our ground clearance back here, that would be 26 inches here, and our ground clearance here, that's going to be 18 1/2 inches.

Then our closest point to our bike rack itself is going to be 15 1/2 inches here. Now to get in our truck bed, we're going to bring down our mast, so we have to bring the first one back here, take the pin, pull out and re-insert the pin so you won't lose it. Do the same on the other one. Now when the bike rack is in this spot, we can open our tailgate and it doesn't touch and you got plenty of room to put anything in your truck bed. I'm going to bring this back up, bring our mast all back up. All right. There we go. Now we're going to show you how we bring up our cradle arms here. Once again there's another pin, pull out, replace the pin here. Same thing on the other one. Now the good thing about the Q-Slot, like I said, if you have a big family you could go with the 4 or if its just you and your wife or your husband you can go with the 2. It's definitely a great family bike rack. We have the last one here. There we go. All righty. Now that's our last stow position. Now this is for 2-inch hitches only. Now it does come with the anti-rattle bolt and clip, so that's going to help keep some of that movement out of the shank as you're riding down the road. That's going to complete our look at the Pro Series Q-Slot 2 and 4 Bike Rack Platform Style, and that part number again is PS63138, on today's 2015 Toyota Tacoma. Here it is on our test course. First is the slalom area which simulates side-to-side action like turning to corners or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps which show you the twisting action like hitting a pothole, road debris or hitting a curb. Finally we're at the solid speed bumps which show you up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out your driveway.
