Today on our 2015 Dodge Charger, we're going to be doing a test-fit of the Maxxtow 21" by 48" Cargo Carrier. This is going to be part number MT70422. It's going to have a 2" shank for our 2" receivers, including a 5/8" pin and clip. With it's sturdy aluminum construction, it's going to offer a 500-lb weight capacity which is going to be more than enough to carry a lot of your goods around, whether that be your storage containers or any other small items. Let's go ahead and get a few measurements. Our closest distance will be our first measurement and that's going to be from where the edge of the cargo carrier comes up from the backside of the bumper. That way, when you have your storage totes or whatever else you're going to put on here, on the back, you know what your distance is going to be.
It's going to be about 2-1/4". Overall distance that we've added to the vehicle to the very back is going to be about 24". Our ground clearance, from the bottom side is going to be about 6". Let's go ahead and get that exhaust clearance on both sides in case you're going to be carrying anything that's going to be heat sensitive or perishable. This vehicle does have dual exhaust, and we'll go ahead and measure from the edge of the exhaust all the way back, it's going to be about 11" to the edge because that exhaust does sit a little further back in there, in those wells and appearance panels. Now that we've got those measurements, let's go ahead and get it out on the road with our all-new Maxxtow 21 by 48" Cargo Carrier, part number MT70422 on our 2015 Dodge Charger. Here you see it out on our test course.
First is the slalom which shows the side to side action to simulate turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternating speed bumps which show you the twisting action such as hitting a pothole, road debris, or going over a curb. Finally we will finish with the solid speed bumps which show the up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out of a driveway.
