Today on our 2014 Toyota Venza we're going to take a look at the MaxxTow cargo carrier. That part number is MT70422. Now, I have it already on our vehicle and it's hooked up to our hitch. The dimensions are 48 by 21. Now, this can hold up to 500 pounds. It's made out of aluminum, very sturdy. So we're going to take a few measurements now just to show you overall distance we've added to our vehicle.
From the bumper out to the end of our cargo carrier I'm showing 28 inches. Then our closest point will be five inches here. For our ground clearance, I'm looking right here at 11-1/2 inches. Now, in this position you can get out your hatch, there we go. We always want to let you know about the break point so let's take a measurement here. I'm looking at approximately about 25 inches.
So just remember when you're loading up your cargo carrier you don't want to go higher than that so you can still get in and out of the back of your hatch. Now, the one thing on the Venza, it has a dual exhaust. You have one on the driver side and one on the passenger side so it's shooting straight out. So just remember if you have any heat-resistant material, you may want to place it in the middle not toward the edges. Now, this is equipped for two inch hitches only. This does come with a pinning clip but you can also also find any anti-rattle pinning clips on our website just check etrailer.com. So that's going to be our complete look at the MaxxTow cargo carrier, that part number again is MT70422, on today's 2014 Toyota Vinza. Let's see how it performs on our test course.
Here it is on our test course. First is the slalom area which simulates side-to-side action like turning the corners or invasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps which show you the twisting action like hitting a pothole, road debris or hitting a curb. Finally, we have the solid speed bumps which show the up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out of your driveway.
