Review of the MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier on a 2013 Toyota RAV4

Today on our 2013 Toyota Rav4, we're doing a test fit of the MaxxTow Cargo Carrier. Part number is MT70422. This is a 48" x 21" cargo carrier. See that we have already hooked up, let's take a few measurements now. First measurement I like to take, close to our cargo carrier is 6". Overall we've added 28" and our ground clearance, 10". It's made out of sturdy aluminum, it has the open floor.

This does come with a pin and clip. Also if you need to get anything else besides the pin and clip, like I said this holds up to 500 pounds. Right now you see a little play, but if you would like to go to our website, we do have anti-rattle pins and clips also. On this particular vehicle, we have our exhaust on the passenger side, it says approximately 14" away. So just remember when you have any heat-sensitive material, that you won't be having problems on that side. So that would do it.

Oh one more thing, see that you have access to your back of your vehicle. But just remember when you're packing your cargo carrier, I show it approximately 17". First is the slalom area, which simulates side-to-side action like turning of corners or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action like hitting a pothole, road debris or hitting a curb. Finally we have the solid speed bumps, which show the up-and-down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out your driveway.
