Today, on our Dodge Grand Caravan 2005, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Let's Go Aero GearCage, part number HCR222. This is a tubular steel cargo carrier that has a flat metal floor to keep all your objects secured. We are going to get some measurements on this. Start with our ground clearance to the lowest point, we are at about 11 and 1/2 inches. Let's see what we've added to the overall length of the vehicle. We are right at 42 inches in overall length.
We'll get a measurement of the closest point of contact would be about 7 and 3/4. Now, we're going to open the gate and make sure we don't have any contact. That should clear just fine. We'll measure the break over point, at the point of which through the gate would contact your items. It's right about 19 inches. The Grand Caravan does have a driver side exhaust exit point straight back.
We'll get a measurement on that. Here at about 12 inches there. You keep in mind that if you have anything that's heat sensitive, you will probably want to put it in the middle, or on the passenger side to keep it away from the heat source. That's going to wrap up our test fit of the Let's Go Aero GearCage Cargo Carrier, part number HCR222 on a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. Here it is on our test course.
First we'll go through our slalom. This will show the side to side action during evasive maneuvers, or making turns. Next, our alternating speed bumps. This will simulate driving over uneven pavement. Lastly are the solid speed bumps, which simulate coming in or out of a parking lot, or driveway..
