Today on our 2016 Chrysler Town and Country we're doing a test fit of the NO tire hold 3-bike rack platform style. Part number is INH305-306. Now, I have a bike on our rack, we have a rack to our vehicle. Just going to show you a few things. The first thing I want to show you, with the bike on it actually has a tilting feature. This lever here, pull down, let the bike rack come down and rest.
Now we should be able to get inside our hatch. But this particular bike, it touches right there at the handle bars, so I'm not going to let it go any further because I don't want to damage the vehicle. But just to let you know that it does touch, so just keep that in mind. Now we're going to bring out bike rack back up. Always grab your bike rack, never your bike. Locks in position.
Now we can talk about how our bike is held. As I said, we have our wheel mounts here that's holding up our wheel. Each wheel is sitting in the wheel cradle, the front and the back. Now, to disengage this we have a lever here. You pull up, we can pull out, we can pull out this way, but we can also pull out there.
So now we can take off our bike. I'm going to set it off to the side. I'm just going to bring all this back down. Close that down. All righty. Now we're going to take a few measurements.
The first measurement I will take will be overall distance. So, overall we've added 38 inches to our vehicle. For our ground clearance coming back here, that's going to be 18 and a half inches here. And there for our closest point, we're looking at 3/4 of an inch here. Now, this has another feature for tilting. Again we're folding up, so you grab that same handle, bring it up, now it locks in position so we're going to take a couple more measurements. So now overall distance we are looking at eight and a half inches. Now our ground clearance is, I'm looking at 11 inches. And for our closest point, pretty much the same, it's going to be about 3/4 of an inch, maybe closer. I'm going to go with the same measurement at 3/4 of an inch. Now, this is equipped for 2-inch hitches only. No, sorry, take that back. Today we're using a 2-inch hitch, but it's also going to be adapted for one and a quarter. It does come with an anti-rattle bolt, so that's going to help keep some of that movement out of your shank as you're driving down the road. So that's going to complete our look at the NO tire hold 3-bike rack platform style. That part number again are INH305-306 on today's 2016 Chrysler Town and Country. Here it is on our test course. First is the slalom area, which simulates side-to-side action like turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action like hitting a pothole, road debris, or hitting a curb. Finally we're at the solid speed bumps, which show you the up and down action to simulate the parking garage or coming out your driveway.
