Review of the Hollywood Racks Expedition Trunk Bike Racks on a 2015 Dodge Dart

Today, on our 2015 Dodge Dart, we're doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Expedition 2 Trunk-Mounted Bike Rack. That part number is HRF6-2. Now, we already have our bike loaded up. We're first going to show you how we secure that down. Then, we'll go over some features of the rack. We have two cradles in place with three straps. Two on our frame and then one as our anti-sway strap here in the back. We're going to pull down and lift up to release our strap. Once we have those straps removed, we can remove our bike and set it off to the side. With our bike out of the way, I always suggest that you replace your straps, so you don't lose or damage any of them. Once again, they may be a little difficult to replace since the bike rack is new. As you work with it a little more, it will get easier. Now, let's take a few measurements. Our first one is going to be our overall distance added to the back of our vehicle with our arms hanging out.

We're adding about 19 1/4 inches. Now, if we wanted to fold our arms down, we could come to either side. We've got a lever at both sides that will pull out and then we can slowly rotate our arms down. With our grooves lined up here, we can then close each side. That's going to secure those arms in place. Now, we're only adding about 14 inches to the back of our vehicle here. Next, if we take a look at how our bike rack is actually secured to our vehicle, we'll see two straps here at the top. One on either side that are going to fit up under that crack of the top of your trunk. We have one hook on each side that will fit either above or under your light. Then, we have one on each side, at the bottom, that will fit under the bottom portion of your trunk. We're also equipped with these rubber and foam pads at the top, the bottom, and on our arms here. Which are just going to hold our rack into place, and prevent our rack from scratching or damaging our vehicle at all. Also, if you wanted to adjust your rack so it sits a little differently, you could open our levers here and they work just the same as the ones that we use for our arms.

They lock into place to secure your bike rack into the position you want. The bike rack also comes equipped with a strap here in the center. Which you can wrap around your bikes, secure to itself, so you don't lose any of your bikes in case your straps come loose or in the case of a catastrophe. That's going to be our completed look at the Hollywood Racks Expedition 2 Trunk-Mounted Bike Rack. Part #HRF6-2 on our 2015 Dodge Dart.
