Review of the Hollywood Racks Expedition Trunk Bike Racks on a 2014 Nissan Maxima

Today on our 2014 Nissan Maxima, we're doing a test fit of the Hollywood Racks Expedition 2, Trunk Mounted Bike Carrier with adjustable arms. The part number for that is HRF6-2. Now we do already have our bike strapped down, we're going to show you how we strap that down and then also some features of the rack it's self. So the first thing we'll take a look at are our cradles here. We've got two cradles holding that bike into place with three straps, two on the frame and one is your anti-sway strap here. We've also got an extra included strap just for more security and to keep that bike from shaking even more. So the first thing we'll do is release our extra strap here.

Now I've just wrapped it around the best that I could, just to keep that from swaying. We'll set that off to the side and then I'll undo our frame straps. Just pull down and lift up and that will release. We've still got our anti-sway strap for last and we always do that one first when ever we're loading up the bike. It's a great habit to get into to always reconnect your straps so you don't lose or damage any of them. We'll just do that next and we can tie up this extra strap as well.

I just like to wrap it along it's self, tighten it around to keep it out of our way. We can tuck that off to the side here. Now we'll take a couple measurements. With our arms hanging up, we're adding about 18 and 3/4 inches to the back of the trunk here. Now these arms are adjustable. To do so we just pull out on that handle there and out on the other one on the other side and we can drop those arms down.

We want to make sure that the grooves are lined up on the side here and connect those back into place. Now with those out of the way we're only adding about 7 and a half inches to the back of the vehicle so this is great for close quarters parking spots or parking garages. Now the bike rack is connected to the trunk by four straps. We've got two up top here that are just looped in. Got two on the side that are really at our tail light here and we've got two at the bottom held in underneath that trunk. We've also got some nice foam padding here to prevent any scratches or damage to your vehicle up at the top, the bottom and on those arms.

So it's going to be our completed look at the Hollywood Racks Expedition Trunk Mounted 2 Bike Carrier. Part number HRF6-2 on our 2014 Nissan Maxima.
