Review of the Draw-Tite 50 mm Hitch Ball

Today, we're gonna be taking a look at the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Ball, but this one's a little unique. So this one's gonna be a 15 millimeter size. So this is basically just for your European style trailers, but if you do have a multi-fit coupler, it's gonna work with that as well. Again, this is kind of a niche-y thing. So if you're looking for your standard sizes, 2 5/16, 2 inch, or 1 7/8, this one isn't really gonna be for you. But if you do have a European style trailer or whatever the situation is, let's go over some specs.

This thing is gonna have a pretty decent weight rating, 3,500 pounds. So it's gonna be able to haul some of those larger trailers that you have. It's gonna be a 15 millimeter, of course, but when it comes to the plate of your ball, the ball mount, we want to make sure it doesn't exceed any thicker than 3/4 of an inch. And the sink is about an inch and a half long. And the hole that goes through, it has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches.

So we want to make sure the ball mount has that same exact size hole, because if it's any bigger, there's gonna be a lot of play there. And you really don't want to do that, especially when we're hauling some trailers and such like that, the least amount of movement the better. So just want to make sure you pair it up with the right ball mount and then of course, just make sure you have a 50 millimeter coupler to be able to use this guy. Our ball does come with a lock washer and a nut, and we do have a cotter pin that comes with it too, so we can lock it into place there. So that's always good.

That is kind of a little unique to some of the other balls that we've been messing with today. They usually don't come with the special nut and the cotter pin, but this one does. So if you have an application for the 50 millimeter ball, this is gonna be a really good choice for you. It has a stainless steel construction with a nice chrome plating on it. So it's gonna resist against rust and corrosion.

This is pretty much your only option when it comes to 50 millimeter trailer balls. So that's basically it for our look at the 50 millimeter trailer ball..
