Today on our 2013 Ford Flex we'll be doing a test fit of the Detail K2 Folding Cargo Carrier. That's part number K2HCC602, it's dimensions are 20 by 60, it has a weight capacity of 500 pounds, and it's for 2 inch hitches only. Let's go ahead and begin our test fit by placing that shank into our receiver. Then we'll line up our pin holes, that looks pretty good. Then we can take our pin and clip .. Now this carrier doesn't come with a pin and clip, you can find it on our website at Etrailer.com, part number PC3.
We'll get that through, put the clip in place, then we'll take a few measurements. Starting with our nearest point, it looks like it's going to be from here to our bumper, about 4 inches away. Overall, to the flex, we've added about 14 inches. For our ground clearance back here, about 9 1/2 inches. Let's go ahead and fold it down. What you would do is you come down here to this clip, pull out the pin, and we'll lower it down, then we'll replace that pin and clip, right here.
It's going to act as a sort of lock to hold it in position. Let's take a few more measurements. Our nearest point has changed to 14 inches from here to the bumper. Then overall we've added about 35 1/2 inches to the flex, our ground clearance, back here, about 11 inches, which is going to make our loading height, about 20 inches. We'll check our break-over point.
I'll open up our rear hatch, right about that position there, looks like it's going to be about 25 inches before our rear hatch breaks over our carrier. Keep that in mind when you're stacking any cargo about the height. One last thing I'd like to point out is that our exhaust exits on our driver and passenger side straight out. We'll take that measurement, it'll be about 18 inches away from our carrier. Just want to keep that in mind when you're carrying any heat sensitive materials on both sides of the carrier. That's going to complete our test fit of the Detail K2 Folding Cargo Carrier, part number K2HCC602, on our 2013 Ford Flex.
Let's see how that carrier did on our test course. This is our test course, let's start with the inaudible 00:02:49, this shows side to side action, such as turning corners, or evasive maneuvering. Then on to our alternating speed bumps, this shows twisting action such as hitting curbs, pot holes, road debris, or uneven pavement. Last of all the solid speed bumps. This shows up and down action such as driving through a parking lot or parking garage, or driving in and out of the driveway.
