Review of the CycleOps PowerBeam Pro Bluetooth Smart Bike Trainer

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Cyclops Power Beam Pro smart bike trainer with Bluetooth. Part number CY9478, also available with ANT+, part number CY9480 and with ANT+ and Jeuele GPS, part number CY9481. The cyclops Power Beam Pro allows you to see the world and train anytime regardless of the weather or traffic. The included power tap lets you ride virtual routes with real work resistance. The power tap measures your power output and speed and communicates that data to your device via Bluetooth or ANT+. In turn your device communicates resistance levels back to your Cyclops trainer. Since the trainer uses electronic controlled resistance, it's able to simulate every incline and decline along your chosen route. The included software offers thousands of routes to choose from, even allowing you to race against friends over the internet.

You can even customize your own route based on Google maps. The trainer itself is a 2" resistance wheel that will work with a 650b, 700c and 26" through 29" wheel sizes with a tire width of up to 2.25". The trainer has a weight capacity of 300lbs. Your bike is connected to the trainer with the included skewer using the clamp knob to hold it in place. The resistance wheel adjusts to fit the tire with the yellow clutch knob.

Finally, any leveling adjustments can be made with the thumb wheel. There is no assembly required, and it features a limited lifetime warranty. It's compatible with your Apple, Android, or PC devices. The Bluetooth or ANT+ sensor simply connect to your bikes frame, wheel and crank to transmit data to your device. That's going to complete our look at the Cyclops Power Beam Pro smart trainer with Bluetooth, part number CY9478.
