Today on our two thousand fifteen Chevrolet Traverse, we're doing a test fit of the Curt folding twenty by sixty cargo carrier. That part number is C18151. It is designed to work with two inch hitches, and has a weight capacity of five hundred pounds. The first thing we're going to do is take a few measurements here. Our ground clearance is going to be first. We have about seventeen and three quarter inches of clearance. Overall to our vehicle, we're adding about thirty one and a half inches.
Our closet point here is going to be about ten and three quarter inches. On our Traverse we have a single passenger side exhaust. Although it's up under our fascia and comes straight down towards the ground, we shouldn't have to worry about carrying any heat sensitive materials because of the direction it is going. Next, we check out our hatch here. As you can see, our hatch opens completely without any interference with that carrier. If we check our break over point, this is going to be the point that it hits any cargo that you may have on your carrier.
If you have anything stacked over twenty one and a half inches, you may run into some conflict there. This is a folding carrier. To do so, we're going to come to our pen and clip here in the middle, and we'll remove that. Then we'll come around to the back and fold up that carrier. You can reinsert that pen and clip. Now you can take another set of measurements.
Our ground clearance has changed to about fifteen and a quarter inches. Overall, we're now only adding about ten and a quarter inches. Our closet point is about two inches away. At our hitch, we have a hitch pen and clip holding that in place. That is not included when you purchase your carrier but you can find them on our website. Part number PC3, and we also have some anti-rattle options on our site, as well.
That's going to be our completed look at the Curt folding twenty by sixty cargo carrier. Part number C18151. On our two thousand fifteen Chevrolet Traverse. Here on our test course, we'll start by going through the inaudible 00:03:02. This is going to show us the side by side action which simulates turning corners or evasive maneuvers. Once we get to the alternating speed bumps, we'll see the twisting action. This will simulate hitting a curb or pothole or driving over uneven pavement. Once we get to the full speed bumps, we'll see the up and down action. This will be just like driving in and out of a parking lot, garage, or driveway.
