Review of the Curt 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier on a 2015 Toyota Sienna

Today, on our 2015 Toyota Sienna, we're doing a test fit on the Curt's Cargo Carrier, part number C-18153. Now, I have the cargo carrier on our vehicle. This one is 24" x 60" and can hold up to 500 pounds. It's made out of a sturdy steel. You see there that it has the mesh bottom, so it won't hold any debris or dirt. It also has a nice, black powder coat, so that helps for rust and corrosion.

Now, we're going to just take a couple of measurements here to show you overall what we've added to our vehicle. Our first measurement, the overall, and I'm looking at 38 1/2 inches, and our closest point to our cargo carrier will be . I'm looking at 12 1/2 inches here. Then for our ground clearance, let's come back here, and I'm looking at approximately about 14 inches. Now, with the cargo carrier in this position, you can get in the outside of your vehicle. I wanted to show you that, but I always want to remember the break point when you're loading your cargo basket, so we're going to get that.

I'm looking right at about 19 1/2 inches there, so just remember when you're loading up your cargo carrier, and you still want to get back in, you've got to bring it down to about 19 inches, or so. Now, this particular vehicle, it has a passenger side exhaust. It is pointing down. It's approximately 19 inches from our cargo carrier, so just remember if you have any heat system material, you may want to place them elsewhere in the cargo basket itself. Now, this has a folding feature and I'm going to show you that. We pull our pin and clip here, then we have to bring it up, and reinsert our pin and clip.

Now, overall distance has changed and closer to the bumper has changed, so we're going to take two more measurements. The first measurement overall, I'm looking at approximately 13 inches, and our closest point to our vehicle . I'm looking up here. Up here I'm looking at 2 inches, so just keep that in mind. Now, we're using a 2-inch hitch today.

This is for 2-inch hitches only. It does not come with a pin and clip. You can find that on our website. That part number is PC-3. This is going to be a look at our Curt's Cargo Carrier, folding feature. Part number, again, is C-18153 on today's 2015 Toyota Sienna. Let's see how it performs on our test course. Here it is on our test course. First, is the slalom area, which simulates side-to-side action, like turning the corners or evasive maneuvers. Next, are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action, like hitting a pothole, road debris, or hitting a curb. Finally, we have the solid speed bumps, which show you the up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out of your driveway.
