How to Install CIPA Towing Mirrors on a 2010 Ford F-150

Today on our 2010 Ford F150, were going to do a test fit of the Towing Extension Mirrors by CIPA, part number 11801 for the driver side. First, we need to take the two wedges out of our install kit and see which one is going to work best. The wedge is going to fit underneath the towing mirror and act as a brace to hold our mirror extension in place. So as you can see, our curved one is going to work the best as the other one doesnt fit as well. This is how the wedge system works, fit in the pre-form groove of the mirror versus the other style. Now weve determined if this is the wedge we want to use, we need to add a protective cover.

So well go ahead and peel off the adhesive cover and add it to the front of our wedge. Now were ready to go ahead and put our mirror in place. Youll notice that the mirror extension is all the way on when the blinker signal comes into the window of the mirror extension. Now we can go ahead and take our wedge and put it in the back side along with our hold down knob. Well go ahead and put our wedge in.

It will line up with the hole here in the back of the wedge with the hole here in our mirror and then well install our hold down knob. And with our mirror secured, that will complete the install of our CIPA mirror extension on our 2010 Ford F150.

The wedge is not adhered to the mirror, so once you remove the knob you can slide the CIPA mirror off and the wedge will fall free. 2109
