Review of the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors

Today we're going to be taking a look at the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors for the driver and passenger side, part number CM10900. You can pick up just the driver side with part number 10901, or just the passenger side with part number 10902. These CIPA towing mirrors provide a custom fit for many Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac models. They're designed to fit specifically to your vehicle's mirror, extending it while maintaining that factory look. It offers us a wide field of view. It's going to allow us to safely and easily change lanes, pass, park, or even back up while towing a trailer or camper. As you can see, I'm visible in the towing mirror but not the factory mirror.

Now if I take a few steps in towards my trailer, as you can see, there's no blind spot by the way we have it set up. This is the view you'd get with just your factory mirror. The mirror itself can be adjusted to most angles. We've got our up and down, diagonal, and side to side. It's not going to interfere with the operation or movement of our factory mirror. We can even still fold it in.

Here on the back it's going to keep your factory mirrors' aerodynamic shape. That's going to help reduce wind noise, drag, and vibration. The mirror measures about 5-3/4" tall and about 4-1/2" wide. With it installed, it gives us an overall length of about 18-1/2" here at the back. The whole thing is made out of a durable ABS plastic with a scratch-resistant mirror face. It's an easy tool-free installation.

We'll go ahead and show you that now. Very first thing we need to do is make sure the back of our factory mirror is clean of any dirt or debris. We're just going to go ahead and take some cleaning solution and wipe them down nice and good. Then we can grab our custom mirror. Now there is some included foam tape that we need to put on. We've got two pieces.

One goes right here where it says foam tape. The other one goes on our shim. But for demonstration purposes we won't be putting these on. With our tape in place, you would then line up the mirror with your factory mirror and then just slide it on. Once we get it almost all the way on, we would then take our shim. The curved portion there is going to angle towards the front. We'll put it all the way on till it's nice and snug against our factory mirror. We'll continue sliding on our custom mirror. Once it's all the way on, we can take our hand knob and tighten that down. With that one tight, we can go ahead and repeat the same process for the passenger side. That's going to complete our look at the CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors.
