Review of the Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier on a 2014 Toyota Venza

Today on our 2014 Toyota Venza, we're going to take a look at the Carpod Wall Cargo Carrier, that part number is M2205. The dimensions are 23 by 47 and can hold up to 450 pounds. It is made out of a sturdy steel. You see it has the mesh bottom so it doesn't keep any dirt and debris in. Let's go ahead and take a few measurements now just to show you overall distance we have added to our vehicle. From the bumper all the way up to here I'm looking at approximately 34 and a half inches and our closest point coming right here, that's at 4 inches right here.

For our ground clearance we're looking at approximately 11 and a half inches. With this cargo carrier you can't pin it out at the back of your hitch, we have a position that you can but also I wanted to show you the exhaust system come out on both sides of the Venza, so just keep that in mind. The hitch system material you may want to place them in the middle somewhere around that area. This can fold down so I'm going to show you how we fold it down. We have a total of 4 pins, one on each corner so we're going to just pull them out. It's always a good idea to keep your hand on the walls so they don't fall and hit your vehicle.

I'm just going to set this in my pocket but there is a actually a strap that comes with it so you can hold it down. We're going to go ahead and put that on. There we go. Strap it down tight and we're good to go. Now with the cargo carrier in this position you can get it out of your vehicle but also I want to show you one more position. It actually folds up so we're going to come here and we're going to pull the pin and clip here, we're going bring it up and place our pin and clip down here.

Now once again our dimensions have changed overall, distance have changed and close to the bumper is change. We're going to take 2 more measurements. Now this measurement I'm looking at 11 inches there and then closest to our bumper now, we come up a little higher here. Now I'm looking at approximately about 4 inches from right here. This is a quick for 2-inch hitches only, not it does not come with the pin and clip but you can find it on our website, the part number is PC3. You can also find any other anti rattle both in pin and clips on our site also.

That's going to complete our look at the Carpod Wall Cargo Carrier, that part number is M2205 on today's 2014 Toyota Venza. Let's see how it performs on our test course. Here it is on our test course. First is the slalom area which simulates side-to-side action like tight in the corner or abrasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps which show you the twisting action like hitting your pothole, road debris, or hitting a curve. Finally we had the solid speed bumps which shows the up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out your driveway.
