Today in our 2014 Subaru outback wagon we're doing a test fit of the Carpod wall 23 by 47 cargo carrier. That part number is M2205, its designed to work with 2 inch hinges. So the first thing we're going to do is take a few measurements here, are ground clearance is going to be first. We are going to have about 17 and 1/4 inches of clearance overall for our vehicle we're adding about 31 and 3/4 inches and our closes point to our Outback will be here at our reyshank 00:42 and that's going to be about 2 and 1/4 inches away there. Now on our Subaru we have a single driver's side exhaust, it does come straight out and towards the ground down here, so we're not going to have any problems carrying heat sensative materials on our carrier since it heads directly towards the ground. Now unfortunately in this position we aren't able to access our back hatch area but if we take out our pins at each corner here, we'll remove those, we're able to set our sides all the way down for a more compact position. So leave those sitting up, we'll set our pins off to the side leave them somewhere where we won't lose them like our glove box or somewhere in our vehicle. We'll pull our strap through just underneath our bars here or sides here and then we are going to close those down and its just going to make it easier to pull out and secure our sides, so they don't move whenever we're driving down the road. Now in this position here we are able to access our back hatch area, we can get anything in or out that we may need, and we might be able to stand in between the carrier and the vehicle.
We can close that up and we have one more position if we come here to the middle and remove this pin and clip, we are able to lift up our carrier and fold I up against our vehicle. Then we can replace our pin and clip. Now because our carrier is so close to our vehicle we do want to make sure we hold on to that when we replace our pin and clip, so it doesn't come back and hit our vehicle at any point. So now I'll take a few measurements here in this position, we're going to have about 13 and 1/4 inches of ground clearance now we're only adding about 7 and 1/4 inches to our vehicle and are closes point its going to be about an inch and a half away there. Now down at our hitch like I said before its designed to work with 2 inch hitches we also have a pin and clip holding that in place. Now that is not included when you purchase your carrier but you can find that on our website part number PC3 and we also have some interrattle 03:53 options on our website as well.
So that's going to be our completed look at the Carpod 23 by 47 Arrold 04:01 cargo carrier, part number M2205 on our 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon. Here on our test course we'll start by working saul 04:12, this is when they shows us the side to side action which simulates turning corners or basic maneuvers. Once we get to the alternating speed bumps we'll see the twisting action, this will simulate hitting a curb or pot hole or driving over uneven pavement. Once we get to the full speed bumps, we'll see the up and down action this will be just like driving in and out of a parking lot, garage or driveway. .
