Review of the Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier on a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan

Today in our 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan, we're doing a test for of the Carpod Wall Cargo Carrier. That part number is M2205. Now we already have it on our vehicle. Now this is a 23 by 47, can hold up to 450 pounds. So let's go ahead and just take a few measurements here, just to show you. Now I want to show you 2 ground clearances.

I'm just going to show the one in the back here. The one in the back here, I'm looking at approximately 19 inches. I'm also going to come up here close to our vehicle and that one's I'm looking at about 10 and a half inches. So let's see how much this if we added our trial vehicle, I'm looking at about approximately 34 inches and our closest point, I'm looking at 4 inches there. Now, with this right here like I said, good for trips, going to the grocery store, anything like that, I wanted to just let you know, over here the exhausted system is pointing down on our Dodge Grand Caravan. It's about 15 inches from our vehicle so if we have any heat sistant 00:01:19 materials, you may want to place them elsewhere in your cargo carrier.

This does fold down. We have actually 4 screws in here, pins, that we want to pull out. We're going to show you another way how this is stored. That part lays down. Pull these lays 00:01:45 2 pins.

Now the pins and stuff, you can just put them in your glove compartment or in your pocket for right now. I'm going to put it in my pocket and that does come with a strap. I'm a lay the strap down. So I just can go ahead and strap it up. All right, so we can go ahead and strap it down.

Nice and tight. There we go. All right. Now you can go in and outside of your vehicle as you can see. See I have plenty room on both sides to put anything or take anything out. This also has a folding position, right here we have a pin and clip. I'm going to pull this out, then we're going to lift up. There we go. We placed the pin and clip there. Now overall, the distance has changed and closest to the bumper has changed also. Overall, I'm looking at 10 and a half inches here. Close to our bumper, I'm looking at 3 inches here. So keep that in mind. So that's going to be it for our look at our Carpod Wall Cargo Carrier. Part number again is M2205 on today's 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan. Let's see how it does in our test course. Here it is on our test course, first is the slocum area which simulates side to side action like turning a corner or evasive maneuvers. Next are the alternate speed bumps, which show you the twisting action like hitting a pothole, road debris or hitting a curb. Finally we have the solid speed bumps, which shows you the up and down action to simulate a parking garage or coming out of your driveway.
