Review of the Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier on a 2013 Toyota RAV4

Today on our 2013 Toyota RAV4, we have our 23 x 47 Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, Part Number M2205. This holds up to 450 pounds. Let's see how much length it adds to our vehicle. In this position, it sticks out about 35 inches, and we have just under 16 inches of ground clearance back here. Our closest point to the vehicle is right about 5-1/2 inches. In this position, we have plenty of places to hook our straps to, and we have these nice big walls to hold our cargo in, but if we're done holding cargo, we can pull these pins and fold it down for our stow position. Now, in our stow position, we have a strap that comes with this that we want to put in place, so that when we fold this up, we don't have our sides flopping back and forth. Just feed this through, and this is a self-tightening strap.

In this position, this is perfect if you want to have access to your hatch, and you have plenty of room to stand here and reach into your vehicle. Now, if you need to park in close quarters, we do have the option of pulling our retaining pin and folding this up. Now that we have this folded up, it gets to about 11 inches of length added to our vehicle, and then at our lowest point, we have right about 10 inches of ground clearance. Now, this does not come with the pin and clip, but if you need one, on our website, it is part number PC3. That'll do it for our 23 x 47 Carpod Walled Carrier on our 2013 Toyota RAV4.
