Review of the Camco Garden Hose Y-Style BRASs Shut-Off Valve
Today we're going to be taking a look at the Camco brass garden hose Y-style shut-off valve, part number CAM20123. The durable solid brass housing and stainless steel shut-off valve resists corrosion. The easy grip handle and hose connection makes operation quick and simple. You can see the hole inside the opening here is open, and then we flip the lever. You can see that is closed, which is going to block off any water from escaping, leaving the water to go out the one end, giving you maximum water pressure. This Camco brass Y fitting will allow you to hook up a water source here to the top valve, and allow you to have two outlets.
For example, when you get to your campsite, you can hook this up to the water spout, and take one hose directly to your camper or RV, and allow you to hook up another hose for spraying off muddy or dirty items, or watering flowers, or any other miscellaneous uses. So what you'll do is you'll take this top fitting here. Notice it has this nice rubber pad around it. It gives you a good grip when you're going around the threads here. You can also notice in here this nice O ring. What that's going to do is, that's going to help create a nice seal when you're tightening it around the threads.
So we'll put this part up onto the threads. For example here, we're using just a standard household water spigot. Now these two shut-off valves here can turn pretty easily. They give you a nice finger grip to move back and forth to open and close the valve. So if you didn't want water to go to your other hose, and you wanted more pressure to go to one hose, you would just close off one end, and then just keep the one end open and give you more water pressure. So with the Y fitting installed, we can just take the end of our hose here, thread it on, and then this hose here could go directly to our RV or camper, and this could be like our fresh water connection going directly to our RV or our camper.
