Review of the Buyers Products Small Wheel Chock

Randy: Hey guys. Randy here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Buyers polyurethane wheel chock. Now, I'm a big fan of this style of wheel check. It seems like in recent years they've been coming out. Basically, they're a lot lighter than their steel or rubber counterparts.

They don't have the sharper edges that we see out of some of the steel ones or some of the aluminum ones. They're super lightweight, easy to manage, but they're also very, very sturdy. You can't really poke or push into them that much. They don't have a whole lot of give. Also, if you're going to be on a surface that you're worried about, maybe you've got a really nice garage floor, maybe you're using this to chock your boat in your garage and you don't want it to get scratched, this is going to eliminate any chance of that happening. You also notice on the bottom we've got four raised edges here.

That helps to get good traction, so as our tire comes up and it puts pressure down, those are going to be forced down into the ground, making sure that it bites in nicely and prevents any kind of slipping. Also on the top surface here you can see the ridges. That's going to help our tire, the sights on it or the little slits on it, grab ahold of something, and again, keep it from slipping. Here on the back we've got a nice handle, plenty large enough even if you're going to be using this with gloves to be able to get your hands in there and get it in position very quickly and easily, also remove it without much of an issue. Now, you will notice there is a pass through hole there as well.

So if you decided you want to take a piece of 3/8 rope or something like that, throw it through there and tie it so you had a little loop, it'll accommodate it for you.Overall dimensions for the chock are going to be eight inches long, seven inches wide, and six inches tall. So this should be one to do the job in just about any application. I also like the bright color, and since it is the entire thing that's made in this color, we don't have to worry about it chipping, discoloring or fading over time. It's going to resist most of the elements that you're going to encounter, salt, oil, gas, stuff like that. All in all, I think they're an excellent choice.

Now, there are some that stack up that are a little bit more compact, maybe if you're worried about the size. But in this size of wheel chock, generally you're not too worried about them laying around on the ground or something like that. So I think it's a great choice. If you want something a little bit more compact for your RV, I'd get some of them that kind of stack up, but outside of that, I'd go with this one for sure.
